Black Pastor on Obama: This is the Most Immoral President Weve Ever Had
Reverend Billy Owens
The March for Marriage is Friday in Washington, D.C., and Reverend Billy Owens of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP),talked with TPNNs Tim Constantine about the event, Barack Obama, and the moral decay in America.
On TPNNs The Capitol Hill Show, Reverend Owens told Tim that the purpose of the March for Marriage is to let people know that we still believe in marriage between a man and a womanone man and one woman, for our families, for the protection of the family, for the protection of our children.
The rally, organized by the National Organization for Marriage and other groups, is expected to have 20,000 attendees according to Rev. Owens.
TIM CONSTANTINE: You can agree with any president, or disagree with any president on political issues, but I am absolutely stumped on this. Because we have any number of issues going on around the globe. Weve got trouble with our economy here; weve got trouble with jobs here; weve got trouble in Iraq; weve got trouble in Russia, the Ukraine; weve got trouble throughout the Middle East, and yet his [Obama's] attention this week has been pushed on two things. One, lets let illegal immigrants inwell leave that one alone for now, but also lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights. Thats been his big issue of the week.
Does he have any idea there are other issues going on in the world? Why is that a priority for him?
REVEREND BILLY OWENS: I wonder. I wonder if he really does know whats going on in the world. I just really wonder.
You see, I believe, I know, when President Obama was first elected, he was for same-sex marriage then, but the deal he made with the gay community was I must get elected the first time by saying Im for marriage between a man and a woman.
But the deal was, in the second term, he was going to take it over with a passion [homosexual marriage], and that he was done.
He has bowed, he has bullied, he has done everything to satisfy and pacify the gay community.
Tim Constantine asks the reverend what the end game is and that if marriage is redefined, after thousands of years of history to the contrary, as being simply between consenting adults, wouldnt that open up the possibility of polygamy? Where does it end, Tim asked.
Its a terribly slippery slope, Rev. Owens contended. They intend to turn this whole society as if we have no gender, he continued, giving the example of a new law passed in California which allows boys to use girls restrooms.
Its terrible that this president has started this country on an immoral course, Rev. Owens said in disgust. This is the most immoral president weve ever had.
Reverend Owens group, the Coalition of African American Pastors has also been strongly pushing for the impeachment of Attorney General Eric Holder.
