That has certainly not been my experience here. I have made numerous posts here with vanilla language that is neither liberal nor conservative and entirely civil, with references to support my statements, only to have personal insults thrown at me questioning my patriotism and my military service. With a couple of you, I read your exchanges and begin counting the minutes it takes for the sure-fire personal insult to be slung. I can almost set my watch by it. And it's almost always conservatives who have run out of talking points who then try to win the argument by bullying their opponents with personal insults. There might be a couple of libs here that do similar, but they don't get nearly as nasty as you conservatives.
Actually, let me correct that. I have a lot of respect for conservatives - I was one for over 30 years - but those on the far right here are not conservatives; they are right-wing extremists who threaten to violently overthrow our duly elected government and install some kind of Christian Fundamentalism in which all of those whose religious beliefs disagree with theirs are to be silenced. They say they are for personal freedoms, yet they make limitations on personal freedoms part of their political platform.

Please take a few minutes, and find some comments from this forum in which someone from the right advocates or threatens to overthrow the US government, then post them for us. I honestly haven't seen any.
That is what angers me about the left, is throwing out statements that are totally untrue, and then acting like they are facts. I advocate getting rid of Obama through impeachment for his criminal acts, but that is a legal channel for getting rid of a despotic, anti-US butthole.
Also, well over 90% of the conservatives I know are very much against Christian Fundamentalism. Returning to the correct and intended meaning of the first amendment isn't fundamentalism. Even the most extreme conservatives I know just want the government to simply stay out of their religion altogether.

What i don't understand is why two alleged rightwing kooks would shoot COPS. Shooting Hillary Clinton or FBI men would be consistant with rightwing nut ideology.(stupid, but consistant) But Las Vegas cops??? Makes as much sense as shooting Girl Scouts.

That is what they were; "alleged rightwing kooks". I will await further investigation into their backgrounds. However, it does appear, as of now, that sobriquet may be justified.

Of course extreme conservatives want the government to stay out of their religion! As does everybody! But they have no problem trying to get the government to impose their conservative - and religious - views on those who do not share their beliefs (by opposing contraception, abortion, same-sex marriage, etc.).
The only grounds to impeach Obama are found in the bubble that conservatives live in. He has done nothing impeachable. I would agree that he is lousy at dealing with the media. His Rose Garden announcement about Bowe Bergdahl's release, for example, was a real lunkhead thing to do, and it wasn't his first. But that's not impeachable.

First, I'm not a newbie here. I have been in this forum longer than you. I don't have the number of posts you have, because I have better things to do than make comments on the myriad of stupid BS posts in this forum.
Second, the only thing keeping Obama from being impeached is the US Senate being filled with crooked leftist extremists, who would not convict him on even the worst crimes. He has certainly committed crimes, as listed in other threads of this forum. The US Senate probably has less than five Democratic Senators who would put the good of this country ahead of their party politics at any time.
