The Gnostics were a very peaceful and loving group, their religious beliefs embraced all of the best qualities of a loving god and religion...of course christians persecuted and wiped them out because they would not denounce their beliefs and embrace the word of god.

There was a book by Elaine Pagels; I think the title was The Gnostic Gospels. I liked the idea. I wouldn't have read it, but it was recommended to me by an older relative, so I dutifully read it, and I think the Gnostics were right about having a direct link to God without the need for intermediaries such as the intermediaries in the Catholic Church system (priest, ..., pope ...) between the ordinary person and God.

You seem skeptical about the phrase "word of god". So am I.

There are 2 types of Christians, those who Know Jesus as their Saviour, and those who know Jesus as their Lord. The majority of Christians in America only know Jesus as their Saviour.

One of the biggest lies being taught in the Church today is that all Christians will rule & reign with Christ. However, Jesus taught in a number of His parables that only Believers in Christ who come under His Lordship will rule & reign with Him for all eternity.

Many Christians do not seem to be Christians because they never came under the Lordship of Jesus, but they are still Christians because they do know Jesus as their Saviour, they just don't know Jesus as their Lord.

The Christians who don't know Jesus as their Lord, are going to be shocked when they will one day come to the reality that they will not rule & reign with Christ for all eternity.

When “science” can answer these questions with definite answers (not just preposterous

How was the universe created ?
How was life created ?
How was consciousness created ?
Let’s see your answers and your proof.

Answers would be easy. Proof would be harder.

I've said for years, that Satan's most effective weapon against Christ - is a self righteous christian. It's no wonder so many are turning away from God and churches, I mean, who wants to belong to organizations that delight in passing judgement on them, and are flaming hypocrites?

Why are you or anybody a Democrat then? They also pass judgment onto people and are demonstrably hypocrites.

Singularity, as someone like you does all the time, you took the verse out of context. Jesus never even came close alluding to the “narrow path” means knowledge. This is what Jesus PLAINLY meant taking into consideration the WHOLE passage in context:

Enter through the small entrance; for the entrance is wide and the path is broad that leads to spiritual death, and there are many who enter through it.

For the entrance is small and the path is narrow that leads to eternal life, and there are few who find it.

#3. Masks for this Chinese Wuhan virus pandemic
Science has successfully deceived millions (probably billions) of people

Thanks for clarifying that. I appreciate you taking the time.

Da'at is a difficult concept even for Jewish mystics and Kabbalistic scholars. I thought CD would enjoy chasing that rabbit down the whole.

And I understand from your point of view, it's important for people to nail down the concrete meaning of the scripture in proper context to make one's "calling and election sure."

Do you understand that verse in James referring to, "Pure religion, undefiled before God and the Father..."

God AND the Father?

Waldon's Puddle, a volunteer rescue group, was roused and out over the weekend to come pick it up and take it to their clinic, where it expired after several miserable hours of seizures and increasing exhaustion.

It likely ingested poison in prepared bait probably meant for other outside pests, like skunks or coyotes which are breeding now....

Or ingested a smaller animal that had taken the bait....

Morning coffee on the deck is different without the hawk dipping a wing on its morning rounds.

Neighbors say the mate remains on the nest, not hunting.

Keeping my 20 lb tomcat indoors to make sure he doesn't find tainted bait meat or small game. Vet put him on a diet. Also to make sure the coyotes don't take him home for dinner!

He is not a happy camper. Cabin fever!

Although a majority of American adults identify as Christian, only six percent of Americans actually live out a biblical worldview, according to a shocking new study. Partially in response to this finding, the Family Research Council (FRC) is launching the Center for Biblical Worldview, directed by David Closson, in order to encourage Christians to live out their faith authentically. The Center will feature the work of veteran public opinion researcher George Barna and theologian Owen Strachan.

“Dutch theologian Abraham Kuyper once remarked that there is not one square inch over which Jesus Christ does not cry, ‘Mine!’ Kuyper’s point is that the lordship of Jesus extends to all aspects of reality and our lives,” Closson told PJ Media on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, this crucial insight has been largely forgotten today, even by many in our churches where we have a diminished understanding of Christ’s lordship.”

“But Paul is clear about the scope of Christ’s lordship; it includes everything. Colossians 1:16 says, ‘For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.’ This has implications how we think about our resources and material blessings,” Closson explained. “If all things exist and are sustained by Christ, they are His already.”

“I’m afraid we have lost the biblical concept of stewardship, which teaches that everything we have is a gift from God and is to be used for His glory,” the director lamented.

In coordination with the launch of the Center for Biblical Worldview, FRC commissioned a survey of 1,000 American adults. The survey found that while 51 percent of adults claim to have a biblical worldview, only six percent of them actually answered worldview questions in a manner consistent with the Bible. Only nine percent of those who identified themselves as Christians answered the questions correctly.
========================================================================
Among the questions whish researchers asked: “Which of the following do you consider to be the best indicator of a successful life?” Respondents chose from these options (biblical answer in bold):

• Fulfilling our potential through the application of our intellect and the scientific method
Consistent obedience to God
• Experiencing the highest possible levels of consciousness and unity with the universe
• Experiencing personal happiness or freedom
• Living a healthy and productive life, without economic oppression
• Being a good person

Only 29 percent of respondents chose “consistent obedience to God” over fulfilling one’s potential, experiencing personal happiness, being a good person, and other options.

First off Parky, I don’t consider Christianity a religion. Surprise! Christianity, to me, is a very personal relationship with Christ. Nothing more, nothing less. The arrogance of people on this platform and around the world who think they know who is “saved”is a affront to His teachings. The essence of Christ, to me, is love. Love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. And, yes, WE are our brothers keeper. Stop the hate. We are all on the same path together as we move through life. Help those less fortunate, even a simple smile or greeting can make somebody’s day. May Christ dwell within you.

Romans 13:8-10
New International Version
Love Fulfills the Law
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
