The bills were blocked because the democrats absolutely refused to cut anywhere else to make up the shortfall. What is it about BROKE that you do not understand ? A serious problem with the VA is that doctors do not see enough patients. Why? Because they are on salary and there is no sense of urgency. Like all other employees, the show up for work put in their 8 hours or so then go home. A VA hospital should be run like a civilian hospital/practice where doctors have to hustle to see enough patients to stay afloat. It is a management problem pure and simple. The government cannot even run Medicare, which is an insurance
program, without massive fraud and abuse. How can they then be expected to run a number of Hospitals? This needs to be turned over to the private sector with qualified administrators to run the hospitals. The typical and only democrat answer, however, is to throw money at the problem and it will go away. Good Luck America !!!

But how do you suppose that the left could help the VA situation in 5 1/2 years when they say Republicans did not do anything in 2 1/2 years. Do we actually expect Democrats to do it in double the time? What are we, anyway? A bunch of slave drivers that expect too much from the Democrats? Sheesh! The poor overworked Democrats are already so busy trying to hide more facts about the Benghazi, Homeland Security, IRS and Fast and Furious scandals that they just can't possibly take on the added burden of seeing that our veterans are treated on the same level as the millions of illegal aliens that have waltzed across our borders under this maggots' watch, can they?

They may not be new but they have certainly gotten much worse. And it is past time to do something about it. Instead of spending so much time and money seeing that the illegals are taken care of in such a wonderful manner, why not deport these leeches and use this money saved from supporting them and take care of our own for a change?

A very good example of how inept the government is at running anything that requires intelligence is how badly they screwed up trying to run the Mustang Ranch in Nevada. They seized the business from it's owner that had been running it successfully for several years for back taxes, put some of their equally incompetents in as managers, and ran it in the hole in less than 6 months.

They could not even run a whorehouse that sold illicit sex and whiskey, so how in the world do we expect them to run huge departments with any sense of intelligence?

I see that you don't know about the Keller bill from the House the other day that would have allowed Shinseki to fire all kinds of people that he can't touch now. It was all of three pages long and the Socialist who caucuses with the Dems didn't have time to read it but as chairman of a committee killed the bill before it got to his committee. Yep, old Bernie Sanders did a trip on that bill but then that is how the Senate does its job.

So many bills have come over from the House and got no attention from the Senate. Many bills could be passed with the Senate doing its job.
