It is completely understandable that with the tragic loss of his son to cancer, the second of his children to have died, he decided not to run in the 2016 election. Had he he would have cleaned Trumps clock and saved the nation and world from the humiliating turd reich of the Cheeto Faced Shitgibbon. Now he has the difficult work of cleaning up the mess.

Someone told him not to run.
Who was it.
I am positive it was not his decision.
The Clinton’s?
DNC ?
I am positive Biden will not blush.

Again..... your fear of the Trump family is duly noted, no need to express it to a point of where that one grain of self respect you had is gone....... been gone a long time, Nancy.

Speculation.

No can tell a potential candidate who has the qualifications they cannot run.
It assumes that Biden cannot or does not make his own decisions.
There's no reason to think, had Biden run, the electoral college that elected Trump would have turned out any differently. It took the Trump administration 3 long years to finally motivate enough people to vote to turn the country from the course the administration was taking.

And yes, it will take a while to clean up the mess. And create new ones. Trump just took a 2nd (and 3rd) term for granted. It would be a mistake for Democrats to copy that sort of cockiness. There is nothing written in the stars that says Biden will have a 2nd term or that his successor would be a Democrat. Just as Trump's policies and rhetoric had unintended and unforeseen consequences, Biden's upcoming presidency will face the same problem.

And besides, the federal government is usually a lagging indicator about our nation. IOW, It can't solve our problems until the American people can come to some sort of agreement about them and their solution. It's up to us and it doesn't help to make enemies and scapegoats of the people with whom one disagrees. While I am a liberal, and have made my thinking about Trump pretty damn clear, I don't think it helps our cause in the least to engage in the same sort of rhetoric that we complain about.

Extremists on both sides need to stop making aliens out of their fellow citizens.

That's exactly right and as Obama found out we have quarters where every two years elections are held and Democrats lost so much ground that it took them until this year to finally break even. Biden should have enough on his plate that he can't delve into anything "socialist" so if we can hold par in 2022 then work on healthcare and education.

Agreed. I hope that Biden and McConnell 'get' that the fed. gov. needs some fixing and start working at least on things they agree on. If ever there was a time to show some good faith, it is now.

I hope the events 2 weeks ago shook up the Congress enough to start working on policies that help the American people instead of posing for sound bites and re-election. Congress was supposed to be the primary power. There's a reason it is Article 1. Over at least the past 5 decades, their inability to work together (the 2 parties) has allowed the Executive to usurp their legislative power.

The idea that a sitting President wanted to nullify an election, with help from a large portion of Congress, boggles the mind. I have never been more thankful for federalism and the powers of the states. Kinda weird, but not surprising. Proves the old public policy saying:

Where you stand depends upon where you sit.

Are you three really expecting us to believe that Trump lost.
You are living a lie or are even more ignorant than you act.

As in, make more of a mess, Jake up our taxes, enable China to go back to screwing us over, etc, etc.
