The battle for Lt Governor is haping up to one on the nastiest, no class examples of conservatism and republcianism.

Win at all costs, no matter what lies are told.

Given his usual rhetoric, don't you find it interesting that he is quoting Fox News?

Would you really expect anything other than nastiness in Texas statewide races? When Bush Jr. ran against Ann Richards, Karl Rove (graduate of the Larry Craig school for manly-men), stuffed mailboxes with circulars saying Richards was a lesbian, which would be the kiss of death in the good ol' boy Lone Star state.

Unfortunately Texas has not changed all that much and it is too late to give it back to Mexico...... as if they would even want it.

Mexico would decline Texas' return... it would provide too long a distance for their unwanteds to travel to get US welfare and benefits.

Texas has 3 of the top 5 fastest-growing cities- and you have to wonder why with a huge drought in the state. According to USA Today, the reason is simple- an oil boom, combined with low taxes and low cost of living.

I find it ironic that people are moving to Texas for "low taxes and jobs" all the while COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that Texas may soon be flat out of water.

This only goes to show you how poorly the American populace thinks things through. Jobs are great, yes. Low cost of living is great, yes. Nice weather is also a plus. But what does that really mean when you can't shower and are fighting over the last case of water at WalMart?

The truth is, Texas will struggle to pay for its growing population, needing more roads and more schools. This will naturally mean gradual increases in taxes. Combine that with water issues and I have a feeling people will fast be moving back OUT, as quickly as they moved IN....or they will completely change the fundamental social and political landscape of at least the urban areas.

True, most of the rest of Texas hasn't changed much, and when it comes to the ballot box in November- it will be the "crypts" in Texas and the "bloods" in CA that will run to polls pulling every last cheating scheme out of their sleeves to win.
That's what the two big political parties have become- nothing but gangs.
