Has anyone noticed the language shift from China about peace with Taiwan? I think in a short time there will be war between these nations, Taiwan will do her best at defense and ask the US for help. This could lead to another never ending war.

Under the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act, Washington has an implicit commitment to come to Taiwan’s defense if the PRC resorts to military force against the island. That obligation may have made at least modest strategic sense when China was weak militarily. But with the substantial growth of the PRC’s military power over the past two decades, the risk-benefit calculation for the United States has shifted dramatically toward the former. U.S. leaders would be wise to conduct a comprehensive reassessment of Washington’s security relationship with Taiwan now, not in the midst of a full-blown military crisis. For insight see, https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2020/09/22/how-far-is-the-u-s-willing-to-go-to-defend-taiwan/#:~:text=In%20addition%20to%20enhancing%20defense%20cooperation%20with%20Taiwan%2C,Strait%20is%20becoming%20noticeably%20more%20frequent%2C%20even%20routine.

We know what President Trump will do, but what about biden? Knowing the history of biden(s) personal connection.

I suspect biden will do nothing.

Doing nothing will damage our relationship with Australia and embolden China to be more aggressive. This could change the balance of power.

Could you be a tad more specific? My Mom can read minds and always knows/knew what I think. One skill she should have taught me, but sadly did not.

That is what he's done for the last 47 years so why would he change his colors?

Well, we're making a lot of money ( someone is anyway ) selling them weapons, so, in typical American fashion, we'll be happy to fight a proxy war - blame the Taiwanese if we lose and take credit if we win. What could go wrong?

Trump has had a lot of hardware sent to Taiwan, and our fleet has been bolstered significantly, as well as a number of Air Force aircraft making runs over the free seas, mostly B-1B's I believe. We are showing a lot of force to convince China that we will defend Taiwan. I do hope this is effective, but with a possible change to Biden, all bets are off. This is yet another reason I believe our dem "friends" have gone off the rails...

China's idea is to take over the whole China Sea area including the Philippines.

Was there once in the mid 70's, airfield was mostly grass but good enough to land a 707 on.

Biden will give Taiwan to China as a 'gesture of good will' and apology for 'Trumps bad behavior'.

Spoken like an anti-American scumbag. What you don't know could fill the Library of Congress. The CCP will end in the next four years. Make a mental footnote.
