Unions don't do shit, except take workers money. I have a union job, and they do nothing for me. The "company" wipes their ads with the contract every day, and nothing happens.
The idea behind unions was to create a fair wage, and some sort of work/life balance. The wage isn't bad, but I have no balance. Only work.
The NALC "guarantees" that I can't be worked over 12 hours a day, or 60 hours a week. Pfffffttttt.....a 60 hour week would be like a vacation to me!!
On top of that, they take 53 bucks a month from my paycheck, and donate it to politicians instead of helping paying union members.
The only upside to it is that if I choose to be a piece of shit deadbeat at work, they'll have to work hard to fire me. And, trust me, there are a LOT of deadbeats who should be fired, but can't because of the f**king union.
I see it every day.
