It appeared that they had some Russian that was retyping the emails that my daughter received and the way that she could tell was she was used to how the sister would write and the style switched completely and certain words were used that were out of context etc. The style of writing had completely changes as well. It is scary how communist governments work and how they treat their subjects in thought word and actions. If you like the Chinese government that is up to you I just enjoy my freedoms and would hate to have to relinquish those freedoms to any government.

That is bizarre... My emails have never been tampered with...

Just my personal experience, but I have never had any freedom infringed upon over here... Possibly just the way I live life...

Canuckus Deploracus,

what does enjoyment have to do with the U.S.A.?

In fact, while many nations were sacrificing their young fighting the NAZIs (Canada for example), America only entered the war after it was personally attacked...

I'm not saying that America wasn't responsible for our victory over the Nazis... But the motivation certainly wasn't freedom from tyranny... In my opinion...

Had America not been attacked, I doubt you would have entered the war...

Canuckus Deploracus,

I don't think you are up to the complexity of this debate. Read up on the relatively recent history before you form any opinions.

PR, you are good for trying to educate Kyle, when he "does not think", he "does not think", full stop.

You posted that you left Canada 16 years ago.. Can't imagine going back. Now you say my country is Canada. Do you have duel citizenship from Canada and China, I gather that you have a Chinese wife and now you reside in China, but you're posting for all to see, even the CCP is looking, remember the spies are gonna get you in trouble with them. Careful with what you say online.

iFrank,

he is very careful, didn't you notice?

When somebody asked him "how much is Canada giving to China", his answer was "How much of what?".

Pretty sly, huh? What a pusillanimous freak, no?

The motivation was self preservation... Not a desire to defeat tyranny...

It wasn't meant as a slight...

Just opinion...

Canuckus Deploracus,

no one can ever misunderstand you, for you are incapable of a slight, it just looks like one in print.

A snowflake suspecting another of being a snowflake? Yeah, another encounter as you remember, but all too real.

And, for your information, "just opinion" could be a contradiction in terms, no? Intellectual putrescence, I call it!

Yes, I did notice, sooner or later more facts will emerge from his debates. I once knew a guy who was married to a Chinese girl, and had many diplomatic problems from here in the US and China. Didn’t want to add any more grief to his mind by putting the screws to him.

That doesn't stop Canada from being my nation, nor my from loving it... I am quite patriotic...

China does not allow dual citizenship (another plus in my books) and the process of becoming a Chinese citizen is astonishingly difficult... I'd be lying if I said I haven't mulled the idea over... Ultimately I have concluded that Canadian is who and what I am... There are too many differences still... Most importantly, I can't imagine supporting the government of China as I do that of Canada....

I have little fear of posting online... I'm rarely derogatory or abusive, and I take care to frame my statements as logically as possible...

China has far more important concerns than to admonish a Canadian expat for posting on an American forum... And if they didn't like that OPP they could always block it...

I have been critiqued a few times for posting on media forums.... The China Daily for one... I was foolish to refer to it as the Wu flu... But wasn't paying attention... And they let the post stand.... Just an automated message stating that the term was flagged... I've gotten the same from Admin on the OPP for using the term "nigger" or "bitch" (although I wasn't being derogatory to anyone...Just used the term in a general manner...I refuse to write "the n word")...

Canuckus Deploracus,

the Chinese would not block the OPP, they learn something from the chaotic interaction in the so-called social media, the desperate loneliness of many posters anywhere, who try to forge their long lost identities "online".

The tragic conundrum develops when the most "stage name" posters become weary of the very anonymity as originally promised. Many begin to reveal, via anecdotes or being forced by the thread context, their personal circumstances, which are also easily measured by the frequency of responses to other posters.

The social atmosphere is easily detected by observation of these various "political" sites: apart from the loneliness aspect, there is also an important finding of the various mechanisms allowing users to either block or "ignore" the fellow countrymen who hold different viewpoints. This is called "an impotence quotient".

An important measurement for our enemies. The overt insults of those who are smarter than the poster, or dare to disagree, are welcome by the ones who desire more division in the society they seek to conquer.

On the subject of "online" cowardice and intimidation:

Owing to the inexplicably sudden impersonal 'online' communications, we cannot but remember the art of letter writing of old, when none or a very little was misinterpreted by the recipient.

Now, in the "online" era, we love to pretend to misunderstand most everything, including the "friendship".

The "online friendship" tends to be the most insidious type of blackmail mimicking the phony civility of a narcissist. Just count the number of the pronouns "I", to be convinced.

JFlorio,

newbear, You write very well. I know this because I write rather well. You are writing at a lever only professionals of higher learning are going to full comprehend. There are some people on this forum that will be unable to enjoy your prose. Even I have to reread some of your threads and try to figure out what got you started on your line of thought. So, for my sake, and a few others, please try to more clearly define your case.

The Chinese Communist Government might study OPP, but they would NEVER allow the Chinese peasants to view this forum. And of course people on a forum such as this will always say things they would never say to someone to their face. That is why forums such as this exist.

When I was a Criminal Investigator back in 1974, I was issued an anti-putrification mask for making scenes with "Stinkers." It kept me from having to breath in all the putrification flotsam in the air around the dead bodies. Putrification generally refers to the gases emanating from a putrefied body removed from water. Fascinating subject for a cold night by an open fire.

Exactly why I used that analogy. Johnson was a know racist but blacks overlooked that fact for the promise of tax payer goodies.

Jflorio. You re right about LBJ. Under Eisenhower he stealthily watered down the Civil Rights bill. When he became president he pushed a bill to buy votes of blacks.
After info came out on LBJ, blacks and liberals ignored LBJ's racism. The almighty buck talks very loudly.
If we dont wise up about Liberal/Socialist Democrats It will happen again but with Communist China probably buying off more Americans. Goodbye free America. Its been a good 2.5 centuries with great progress inc in racial relations. All Wil be gone.
