Unless you are trained from childhood in the corruption of the elite, unless you are trained to believe that somehow you are chosen to dictate to everyone else how they should live, you cannot hope to get anywhere in politics today. First of all, understand that you will be harrassed and your personal history as well as that of every member of your family, your friends, and anyone who had any influence, real or imagined, will be put under a microscope and whatever you said when you were in kindergarten will be brought out and used against you, especially if you had the temerity to mature and change your outlook based on better education, understanding and information. We do not have quality people running for office because they know that no matter how they have lived, or their friends and family have lived, they will be torn apart limb from limb for the slightest infraction of what your "betters" deem to be the way to think and live. No sane person, no one who gives the slightest care as to what such nonsense will do to their loved ones and acquaintances would consent to have their name placed in nomination for anything. Unless you are down in the swamp with the rest of them, you will go nowhere and be destroyed in the process. Such is our political process today. The reason is that there are no longer any standards of behavior-harass an intern? fine-she asked for it and you needed the release. Be unfaithful to your spouse? Who cares? Everyone does it, and wives are OK with it because as Jackie Kennedy was reported to have told Joan, "it is the price we pay for the position and access to power and privilege", and if you drive drunk off a bridge resulting in the death of some silly young girl who thinks you are all about helping this country, well, just lie about it, wear a phony neck brace, and sympathy will be yours and you will walk away a free person, with the adoration of thousands as shown by election to the Senate for many terms. If it feels good and it is your truth, then it is all OK. If you are pregnant and it is inconvenient, just kill it-no matter whether it has been successfully born-you can still kill it in certain states. Some one getting too old and perhaps out of their minds? Euthanize them and say it is to take them out of their misery, though you have no idea whether they are in any real pain or not, but they take up resources we deem to be better spent elsewhere. It is, after all, our "truth" and so everyone does whatever he pleases. For a glimpse into the future of a nation like that, please read in the Old Testament, the book of Judges. Then follow the Israelites and their behavior through to the annihilation by Assyria and the Babylonian Captivity. Change a few details and names, and that is the USA. Sad, but I believe it is coming. I pray for mercy on this country. Only by God's grace.

I think the same way, so how do I reconcile this? My dad a staunch Republican conservative, maybe more than I am well I'm not a Republican. My mom democrat, brother snowflake, democrat, almost as good with a gun as me..almost. Party DOES come in second at least for me after family the military well after 50 years you kinda have that soft spot for it. I've filled in for my dad since he passed on. Both parents were in the service. My dad Intelligence, my mom the WACS. I guess you'd say I followed tradition. If I was going 1, 2, 3. It would be 1. Family 2. military 3. Republic 4. party

Lt. Rob, My Mom was 1st Lt, Fleet Navy Intel stationed in DC, my Dad was a spec 9 Marine. They had to get special permission to marry. She's an officer, he's a sergeant. He went to WWII and Korea, she knew about the attack on our fleet at Pearl Harbor was about to happen before it did. She swore an oath of secrecy but spilled the beans to me in the 80's while we were having a few drinks, oh, maybe more than a few.

My Mom was a strict Rep. I have no idea where my Dad stood by what he would say but by his actions I imagine he was a Rep. too.

I personally flunked out of the Military even though I made it through 9th grade Military school. Hernias in 68 were good enough to keep you out of being a ground pounder. My option, thanks to my Dad was the Merchant Marines. My Dad got me in and arranged for me to do a Norther Europe cruise, I chose SE Asia. Vietnam hauling thousands of tons of rockets, arty rounds, powder etc to the troops on a WWI ship. I loved it except for missing my girlfriend who turn out to be fking a UDT guy with her mothers urging.

Rob, I personally didn't serve active duty but was raised on both sides by Military, learned the discipline of the Military in school, learned marksmanship at Military school and learned from both true patriotism for our Country. Why in the heck does everyone around the world want to come here. Let the Dims take control and we'll be wanting to move to Africa. Mike
