They went back to the 20 round clip back in the 90s I think like right before the first Persian Gulf War

I'll bet it's a semi-auto too. It will strike every time you swing it until you run out of energy.
Technically speaking, depending on your physical fitness, that could be considered an assault wrench with a high capacity magazine.

You got it.

No that's how many rounds that these rifles hold today but back then the M14 held 30 rounds my friends the only reason why I know that is because one of my friends were fathers brought his home once he retired from the military and it had a 30 round clip dummy

I recall the M14 had a standard 20 round clip. I trained on it (Crap - that makes me old)

Well I just got done telling Lone Wolf at Mac in the seventies they had a 30 round clip for the M14 and they changed it back to 20 round clips for the Persian Gulf War during the seventies and eighties when there was no war you could use a bigger clip

There were some 30 round clips made (maybe even larger capacity). The problem with 30 rounds (or more) in a magazine is the higher spring loads needed for more cartridges - resulting in misfeeds. Misfeeds be bad news.....

I'm just tired of these so-called Congress people who don't know anything about weapons because I've never served a day in military or on a police force they don't know the difference between semi-automatic or automatic the M16 A2 semi automatic the M249 saw semi automatic the only weapons that were fully automatic that the army ever used where the M14 and it came with 30 round clips and the M60 the pig it was fully auto but we don't use those anymore so everything that the Army uses is semi-automatic
I'm just tired of these so-called Congress people ... (show quote)

The M-14 was not fully auto... it used 20 round mags.. ever hear of the BAR???

and every one of you right wing scardy cats, missed the point by a mile.. you also turned the subject to only consider one aspect of a possible "assault" style rifle..

the M-14 has a select switch on it . it is capable of single pull of trigger for each round and fully automatic . pull the trigger once and she will pop off as many rounds as you desire until you release the trigger .

The thing is, legislatures that have a majority of leftists are passing bills to make "assault guns" illegal. We must elect rightists to get that corrected.

Not 'rightest' - rather 'Constitutionalists' (those who follow the Constitution).

Actually you are wrong, in the federal and several state assault weapon bans there are specific definitions; legal definitions of an assault weapon they match exactly what I posted.

that's because you liberal are afraid of your own shadows . this is why people call these firearms "assult weapons " a 22 short could be considered a assault weapon . just depends on whos hands it's in , and what their doing with it .

I believe the M-2 30-cal carbine we used in Korea was also automatic fire. The M-1 carbine I carried in Korea was single-fire however.
