My dad, WWII fighter pilot, taught me to participate in directing government to ensure the government did not get big enough and powerful enough to control what one citizen can do or not do. He knew the US Constitution better than most people I have ever met in my life time.
My father served in Vietnam. He wasn’t a draftee.
Both my spouse and I served during the Soviet-Afghan war. That’s where we met. What we saw done in the name of “Freedom “ left us both with a real bad taste in our mouths. The attachés from big oil and their “recommendations “ are the main reason both of us are willing to go to extreme lengths to strip corporate America of as much power as we can manage. Have no illusions, the military industrial complex is real, and very dangerous.
Did you notice that when Trump “withdrew” forces in Syria that our troops were then deployed to protect the oil fields? In Syria. Gosh, I wonder why that happened?

He died young as a Vice President of a Major corporation's Marketing Dept. A corporation that did nothing to force its will on the employees. All the employees were free to contribute, suggest, provide ideas for products etc. And they were rewarded. A true exercise in the God given right of contribution and reward.
I’m glad your father worked for an enlightened corporation. I trust that you are aware that this is the exception. The majority of corporations are concerned with one thing, stock valuations. This is the main form of pay for top managers. Stock options.
Otherwise they could care less. For an example, look at the way Amazon treats the workers in their distribution centers. Workers have been taken to the emergency room after passing out from heat exhaustion. Perhaps a better example would be what happened in California with PG&E. As much as they cry “regulation”, if you look at their profits over time you will see that the big hits on their bottom line were when their negligence cost them a bundle. This time there was a body count. If you look at their profit line prior to when their negligence caught up with them, they were doing just fine.

He also taught me to follow the money to help determine what people or groups or government wanted to be in the power position, despite the will of the people. I have come to see that as competitive cooperation when the people are first.
Here’s a question to consider. Which people? Corporate America? The Independence USA super pac which spent over 28 million to elect Democrats? The New Republic super pac, which spent over 30 million to defeat Democrats? Big oil? The military industrial complex? Who?

I also see that when money is spent to kill the will of the people, it is time to stand very strong and tall and carry a big stick.
Pay attention. The propaganda war is on. Do not take anyone’s “facts” as gospel. Do your homework. These people know how to manipulate the public. Never be so arrogant as to believe that you are some how immune.
