Westboro Baptist doesn't represent ANYTHING that Jesus taught. I know most Christians are not that extreme, but still I have encountered some bad ones. And yeah they make good Christians look bad. I went to their website once and only once and it was like reading Hitler's manefesto. It made me want to vomit. They aren't just misguided people who are going a little overboard. They have absolutely no interest at all in saving anyone. They believe that the whole world is going to hell except them so they are gloating about how everyone else is doomed. There was a petition out to revoke their tax-exempt status by classifying them as a hate-group, but I don't know whether anything has been done about it. It is sad that people see them as representing all of Christianity, because they don't. It makes it worse that there are so many religious extremists coming out of the woodwork these days and even wanting to get involved in politics. That is why I made the comment that these people should never be allowed to run this country. They absolutely do not believe in separation of church and state. Furthermore they are playing on people's fears which I find disgusting. They promise that if everyone tows the line that all of the problems in this country will magically disappear. They make scapegoats out of gays, women or... (insert favorite minority of the week). Now I get it that not everyone is going to approve of gays but it is shameful that they are being used this way. The same with any other minority. This is really more of a power play than anything else. They are snake oil salesmen offering an easy cure for the desperate.

Didn't mean to make this an essay but boy I just cannot believe the lunacy that is going on right now. I have gone on conservative websites and been treated like I am evil incarnate just because I disagree with them. I am even evil for believing in global warming!

Ah well, I am on so many meds for other stuff that I guess I should have bought some stock! I actually am trying to get off of some of them because I don't think it is too healthy to take a lot of meds.

It quoted a respectable scientist who states that the earth's increase in temperature for the last fifteen years has been .05 of one degree (5/100 of a degree). So much for Global Warming. A recent example brought to the fore circa 2010 on Fox and Friends - Remember Mr.Rogers ? A decent and kind human being by ANYONE'S standards ?
Fox and Friends saw fit to call him an EEEVIL , Evil Man .
Why ? Mr. Rogers always opened his show and stated to the children watching his show that they "were special " . The diseased minds of that perverted threesome on the morning show construed that as EVIL because - "he should have told those kids that they WOULD BE SPECIAL if they worked hard for it "-[and attained all those THINGS that make one special I guess ] THEN they would be special . Instead these brainiacs contend that the whole generation of kids listening to that show became listless "takers " lazy and wanting things handed over on a silver platter , whereas [HERE COMES MORE UTTER ABSURDITY ]those kids who grew up watching Captain Kangaroo had better moral standards and work ethics . And then the inevitable agenda ! Of course !! This would explain why THOSE who watched Mister Rogers -ALL TURNED OUT TO BE OBAMA VOTERS !

Separation of church and state is not a constitutional issue. Our constitution does not say to keep theology and politics separated, it says

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Far different than separation of church and state. Every signer of our constitution had something to say about service to God in respect to service of country. Even Benjamin Franklin who it has been said was an atheist, supported faith in God as something that was useful in serving our nation.

I often wondered how anyone could set aside their theological convictions when voting on or signing a bill into law. Or arguing for or against a proposed law. Well something to think about anyway.

As for West Borough Baptists yeah they have a lot to answer for when God begins judging, if the Bible is to be believed.

Never heard that part of Fox threesome. But then there have been other instances on Fox. I do not know of any kids being tainted by Mr. Rogers of any kids programs of that era becoming Obamainics because of the programing. That is BS for sure. I am a both a 'Fiscal Conservative' and 'Strict Constructionist' of the Constitution. Since 'Conservatism' is primarily concerned with fiscal policy (the prevalent one today being to BORROW and mortgage my kid's future and spend it in huge sums so we can BORROW again) I was wondering how Buckley would be offended by my conservative beliefs that absolutely mirror his? I never considered myself a "...misfit" (which I take to mean I don't belong anywhere)...or whatever.

Would you be kind enough to provide some examples of my "...running amuck (sic)" and how today's 'conservatives' are perceived as "...misfits"? I'm having trouble visualizing the point you're trying to make. Are you an Obamacrat taking conservatives to task for some perceived wrong done to you in the past? Do I assume you haven't gotten your share of 'freebies' from Obama and you think it's the fault of Conservatives?
