Maybe they didn't "turn out" because they had finally woken up to the character and to the agendas of Obama and Hillary, and decided to sit those elections out.

A lot of Republican voters did the same when John McCain was nominated -- they weren't about to vote Democrat, but that RINO was too phony where conservative Republican values were concerned. Many conservatives, such as myself, held our noses and voted not for McCain, but against Obama.

Dubya learned all about "reaching across the aisle" in his second term. His good faith and trust in Democrats to respond to civility in kind earned him little more than a lot of teeth marks on the arm that "reached across." 😁
