Some Wisdom from Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

I. If the new crime be to believe in God, let us all be criminals.

II. Once the world, like Pilate, gives Christ & Barabbas, virtue & vice, good & evil an equal hearing, and allows a vote to determine which will be chosen, there will be no need to count the ballots. Goodness will invariably be led to the Cross.

III. Moral principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong, even if everybody is wrong. Right is right, even if nobody is right.

IV. A religion that doesn’t interfere with the secular order will soon discover that the secualr order will not refrain from interfering with it.

V. To save souls, we must be holy; God does not use dirty tools.

VI. The holier and purer the life, the more it wold attract malignity & hate. People are turning away from Christianity today not because it is too hard but because it is too soft.

What a self righteous load of dribble. The reason people reject organized religion is pious blowhards like this who claim to understand the will of God and look down at others while spouting such holier then thou blather.

Kinda choked you up huh? The reason people reject organized religion is because they prefer their religion unorganized, off the cuff, make it up for themselves, pick out the good stuff ignore what they don't like. You get the point. You react to that which is good, that which is true just as evil has always reacted to it. The venom that continually drips from your lips comes from what's inside you.

Loved that very wise man, and I'm not Catholic.

No. It's sanctimonious blowhards like you who see fit for the vogues of the moment to become our morality. Fulton J. Sheen was 100 times the man you ever thought of being.

To attack a man like he is, you have to be lower than a snake's belly but he would probably caution against saying it. I don't care. I've had it with you.

Agreed! Luke says, "the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." Luke 6:45

Well said, padremike. This man really hit the bottom with that assault on such a decent, self-deprecating man. He's had a track record as a miserable, hostile swine before but that was, far & away, his worst. That is what is inside of him. It's pitiful.
