You just can't make this kind of stuff up. Washington State is in the process of passing a bill to force President Trump to release his tax returns or be removed from the 2020 Presidential ballot in the State. They want to see his taxes so badly that they think they can force him off the ballot if he does not comply.
The state’s attorney general and solicitor told lawmakers in a letter this week: “The disclosure requirement you propose is likely Constitutional,” adding that the measure “would definitely be challenged in court.”
"Definitely"... Ya think?

"It has never been mandatory for Presidential candidates to release their tax returns but now Democrats want to make it the norm because they think it can somehow remove Trump from qualifying for office."
Yep, they want him out that badly, meaning he must be doing something right.

I agree they will never "out" themselves. Congress' top priority is to protect themselves--first and foremost make sure they set themselves up when it comes to benefits, raises, COLA, etc., and whatever else they decide they need for themselves. And make sure the "little people" don't know about it. Brings to mind that taxpayer-funded "Hush Fund" that we recently learned about. And how long has that been going on? It continues to amaze me that there is no entity that oversees Congressmen with respect to these kinds of things. How can these people go into public service making a modest income, stay in office for 20-30 years and come out multimillionaires? Their salaries are not shabby, but no way they could accumulate millions on that income.
Not sure if there is a way to "out" them, but sure would be nice to see them have to answer for it.

26 states are considering similar bills. The House is going to subpoena Trump's tax returns anyhow, so he's safe for the 2020 WA ballot--if he lasts that long.
