I don't see anything wrong with any two individuals entering into a contract between them selves. Maybe we could make it imperative for both parties to be clean and not carrying some std.

Yet another victimless crime bites the dust. Good. Now, on to prohibitions of other stripes...

In Nevada, prostitutes have to be registered and have to have documented regular medical check-ups for STDs. They also can't do their business via "streetwalker" methods, they have to work out of a legally licensed brothel or a "call girl" set-up, and brothels usually have to be outside city limits.

If they're hustling on the streets they can be arrested.

It's very strictly regulated in Nevada, not the free-for-all you probably imagine.

Ha! That's an understatement! Check this out:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/cifamerica/2009/apr/03/nevada-prostitution-tax

In some places they're forced to leave the county when they're not 'on the job'. Others are not allowed to leave the brothel after 5PM. The list goes on...

Oh, and they pay taxes and fees just like any other business.

You seem very experienced on the subject.

Reno cab drivers often carry "menus" of "services" provided at the Mustang (I've seen one or two, unbelievable), including the "act" and how much it costs, and when they bring clientele there, they sign in and they receive a commission based on the amount of money their fares end up spending.

But, yeah, it's treated like a regular business, tax wise, etc.

Funny story, during the Bush 1 Administration, the founder/owner of the Mustang, Joe Conforte, was way behind on taxes, and the U.S. Government took over the "ranch" to make back their tax money. In fairly short order, they ran it nearly into the ground and had to get Conforte in to revive it.

In the early Clinton years when the idea of government run healthcare was being bandied about, many of us were asking, "Wait, they want the government to manage everybody's healthcare when they can't even manage a whorehouse?"
