We volunteered again!! a local friend of ours fell yesterday and dislocated her hip. She has a litter of 5 Bloodhound puppies that are 4 days old, and she lives alone with the dogs. (her husband , who was a police officer, got killed in the line of duty a couple of year ago) One of her neighbors said she would take care of the 5 adult dogs, but not the bitch with the puppies, o we now have mom and puppies in our guest bedroom. Fortunately the bitch seems to have enough milk but I did go out and get 4 cans of Goats milk Esbilac which is a dry power that , mixed with water, makes a really good formula for puppies. The bloodhounds are special stock bred for search and rescue and tracking, few people breed them and to loose these five puppies would be a major loss for the rescue group that will train them later. The Corsos are happy that the puppies are here, and really want to help, the Welsh and the Staffy resent the new puppies and all the time they will take. In the mean time the washing machine hose broke and water went all over the laundry room. Can't do laundry so will probably use all our towels keeping the puppies clean. AIN'T life fun?

Omigosh!! Yay for the puppies, boo hiss for the washer. You can make a temp/quick repair by using saran wrap then seal it over with duct tape if you can't replace the hose right away...

Hey, fun comes in all shapes and sizes enjoy the moment and be thankful the darn hose didn't break while you were away and flood the house. Always look at the glass as half full NOT half empty otherwise you get damn depressed about the whole thing

It's stuff like this that you will look back on and laugh some day and be able to tell your kids remember when and all sit around and laugh and tell the stories. Every family has them and your no different.

Dog gone hose!! You gotta have something to fix it with around there! I once fixed a split fuel line on my old pick up with a spent .410 shotgun shell that was laying in the bed.
And I LOVE Bloodhounds! I've wanted one forever, but they are very hard to find around here, and if you can, expensive. I found some 200 miles away, and $1200 a pup. Just couldn't do it.
Can you send me a picture?

Maybe that flex tape will work it is supposed to work under water and all. I found some at a Menard's store here which is like a Lowe's or Home Depot. If you have any of those in the area you could try there.
Hooray for you and the dogs and puppies. We bred and raised standard poodles for 18 years. I so miss puppies. I also know how much work it is. My hat is off to you. Thank you.
You're my new hero.
The delight of the process.

Like I said. Wrap the hose in saran wrap then wrap duct tape around it. It works. Temporarily

Never tried that. It works under pressure?
temporary is permanent if it lasts.

LOL it was a good friend to a single mom of four with no money, tho...
We never leave the house with the washing machine or dryer going, thank goodness.

Would have to get the owners permission, right now they are not much to look at but about 14 ounces each. These are dogs specially bred for scent work as rescue dogs and the puppies are probably worth about $4,000 each
Will just have to get to the store and buy another hose. The washing machine is about 30 years old, but don't want to have to buy another one.
