Wheaton College Students Bash Pro-Life Speaker for Making Them Feel ‘Unsafe’
Tom Cicotta ~ December 14, 2018
Students at the Evangelical Christian Wheaton College in Illinois said that a guest lecture from a pro-life speaker made them feel “unsafe” while recounting his life story of being a Black American conceived through rape and put up for adoption at birth.

The Wheaton College College Republicans recently invited pro-life speaker Ryan Bomberger to speak on campus. Bomberger travels to campuses to give a lecture entitled “Black Lives Matter: In and Outside the Womb.” Bomberger was conceived through rape and put up for adoption after birth. He speaks about his personal story as a Black American during his campus lectures.

According to a report from Campus Reform, leaders of the student government at Wheaton College published a statement that condemned the speech, arguing that Bomberger made students feel “unsafe” on campus.

[i]As many of you know, a special interest club hosted an event on Wednesday night titled, “Black Lives Matter: In and Outside the Womb”. The speaker of this event, Ryan Bomberger, made several comments at the event that deeply troubled members of our community. His comments, surrounding the topic of race, made many students, staff, and faculty of color feel unheard, underrepresented, and unsafe on our campus.

As Student Government, we are committed to the College’s mission to promoting student programming (at least they're honest ~ mwdegutis) that “pursues unity, embraces ethnic diversity, and practices racial reconciliation so that it will contribute to the education of whole persons”, and therefore, felt it necessary to respond to the offensive rhetoric from the speaker at this event that compromised this mission. We would like to reaffirm that call in our Community Covenant to “pursue unity and embrace ethnic diversity as part of God’s design for humanity and practice racial reconciliation as one of his redemptive purposes in Christ”. As a community, we seek to affirm the worth of all human beings as unique image-bearers of God. We also look to recognize and challenge any situations that may hinder this mission.

Bomberger responded to the statement by arguing that the students only want Blacks to hold certain perspectives.

“It would be a disservice to the students if I, as an African-American, were only allowed to express a particular (and decidedly secular) perspective on culture-shifting issues,” Bomberger wrote in an email statement. “I am a person of color, a clarifying fact which you conveniently left out of your letter of denouncement… For anyone —student, faculty, or staff — to claim that they were ‘unheard’ or ‘underrepresented’ obviously didn’t stay for the 25 minutes of Q&A that followed or the additional 30 minutes that I stayed and responded to more thoughtful questions… Are students at Wheaton taught to fear or taught to think?”

You can beat your gums forever about this subject but in the end a majority feel that the person who should decide to abort or not is the pregnant woman, NOT your stankin Government, the Courts or the Police.

Another lie from the pit. It takes two to make a baby but only one has a say so if it's murdered. Not even close to being equal justice under the law of man or God.

Frankly I find the idea of abortion abhorrent.
My comment was part wry observation, part
paraphrasing the irony of the political right wrapping themselves in the flag and the holy enshrinement of Liberty while advocating ruthless punishment via the courts and police for women who decide to abort, regardless of circumstance. For an example of how this works in practice read up on recent reports of women imprisoned for 10 years in El Salvador for having abortions. Some of these women claim to have had miscarriages.
One has to wonder what of the impregnator if fornicating is a sin? The Bible admonishes against men “spilling their seed on the ground”
also. Is this murder too? (Imagine the nightly carnage around the world.)

Here you go off into the weeds....again.

I don't believe that I've seen where anyone is calling for ruthless punishment for women who kill their children. You are advocating for their 'right' to do so though. Why deflect, and backpeddle now?

So murder, as defined by you, should go unpunished?

Murder is against the law. Killing an unborn child is murder.
Look at it this way.

If Archie shoots, and kills a pregnant woman who is walking into an abortion clinic like Planned Parenthood, with the idea of ridding herself of the little human in her, Archie will be charged with two murders. Why?

A vegan won't eat an egg because it's technically a baby chicken.

If one bacteria is found on Mars, it's considered life.

Yet that wad of tissue that a woman carries around from a few minutes of pleasure is just that. A wad of tissue. Right?

Do you live in El Salvador or the USA? If you're raped here you can shoot, stab, mace, and tase the rapist to defend yourself or go to the police and report it later. In the USA you also have the morning after pill. There is no need for Planned Parenthood. They cover up more rapes and incidents of incest than you can imagine and also allow for sex trafficking young girls. The pimp is often the one who takes them to the abortion clinic. Plus too many teens and women die in their facilities because no hospital will grant them admitting privileges. They need to go the way of the Dodo bird. They sell baby parts which are illegal in the USA. It's all about money for them while they promote sex outside of marriage at the same time. They love repeat business. You need to wake up and get a clue.
