But, it did work in 2012.
Rush Limbaugh pointed out that if the same number of people who voted against Obama in 2008, had shown up and voted against him again in 2012, Obama would never have been elected president in 2012.
The Democrats worked to convince Republicans that Obama was going to win and there was no use in trying to stop it.
It worked as that year a large segment of the voting republic stayed home.
