I too like reading Linda. She has beat me up pretty good a time or two, strange how I smile when she does. Sure could have used her close to me some time ago but in those days there were no computers in 80% of U.S. households.

Strange how a person thinks when he/she gets older (don't go there on the age thing). This may be a dead-horse now but my thoughts are to Deceit nowadays and a lie of omission is a lie, the question is relevance that is with-held from people.

My old USMC attitude gets the best of me too often. Never should let that happen. I do dislike being lied-to, am a bit sick of it. Out comes the attitude when I discover another lie took root in me. Cannot let that happen again. I refuse to fall for another "Gulf of Tonkin".

Linda, just because it's you a response. I was elected to a position that brought me to be elected to a State President position. Strange the State job took me from Arizona to run a lobbying company in D.C. for 4 years. Guess the membership liked what I did because they changed something and made a State Lobbyist job (one of the good guys, I had no money to bribe people, convinced them on merits) for another 4 years (we had term limits, 2 elections). Eight years in D.C. and be it the House or Senate I had a good reputation. I've only ran into two somewhat popular people who say they remember me (probably really don't). Back home and wanted a breather for a year and discovered something you probably already know, this political stuff you take a year off and you might as well leave the country (lol).

Now you know why I was meeting with Kolbe all those years ago. The honest bottom line with NAFTA was the rich-folk wanting to buy materials without tariff hassles. Kolbe convinced such created jobs.

In defense of Mr. Bill (Pres. Clinton) he liked to keep a disputing opinion around, me. Yes, went to many meetings at the WH, the West Wing really. Wish they listened to me more. They believed these opposition people actually keep you out of trouble, I must agree.

AZ State Senator President Pete Rios, yes he was my first as a new campaign manager.

I pick and choose the fights of others and my personal beliefs of the topic... If I don’t believe in it then I simply excuse myself from it.. Ok, enough here, beginning to look like the composition of a CV.

Soooo, Cripple, if I may, what is your position about NAFTA?? How about tariffs?? Was NAFTA brought about to really reduce tariffs ??I say eliminate them in and for all countries and use the funds saved to invest in more import/export trading thereby enhancing world economies for all..

Trump echo’d this in the G7 meeting and you see how it was completely ignored.. Why is that, Cripple???

Take a few months off and it’ll take at least a year to regain where you were when you took a sabbatical, as I call them.. The new people always threw me off..lolol..

My lobbying was on a state level with hopes to make it to the floor, house or up if needed.. Also was not a money Persuasion but rather seeking out those of like mind and want in attempting to change or draft a bill on whatever the issue was at stake...

Thank You very much with sharing a bit of your private life... Honored and humbled by it..

I always thought NAFTA was simply a way to reduce tariffs...Mr. Bill was smart to keep you on board for that differring view...I am sure it helped him tremendously..

Given the fact Mr. Rios, won the election, that speaks volumes about you..Were you also involved with his daughters entry into her position ??

Thanks, was no competition to me either. A life worth reflection, like us all. Glad to know you are up on politics, but no I had no involvement with Petes' daughter. I did get a few calls, like the first I said don't be part of deceit (or something like that) the same I said with the other phone calls.

We are clearly in agreement regarding deceit. The same issue that made me turn from the Dems. after Pete is the same that turned me from Trump. If I associate myself with deceit, well I've got enough in my life I don't feel good about, my foot is down NO MORE!

If you mind to give me a little help on something. Pres. candidate Jill Stein said not a single voting machine has been physically inspected (she was referring to voting) yet 'they' say nothing involved in voting or skewed a vote. Search as I have, can't find a credible report on physically inspecting a voting machine, looking in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and nothing yet.

Will turn to reading today, have this IG report. The North Korea agreement is not a treaty, otherwise the Senate would have to approve. Is a 1 page nothing from what I read. The IG report will certainly take longer to read & digest. You may see me back here but later, maybe a few days. I don't read like I use to.

So far, you and I know a campaign manager is shoulder-to-shoulder with a candidate, personal best-buddies like a husband & wife in a real good marriage. Well it use to be.

Here’s a bit to consider, although I am pretty sure you know all this~~~~When Stein said Wisconsin voting Machines were illegal she did so mistakenly thinking of Cali’s ban on touch screen machines because they left no paper trial and were easy to manipulate..

The largest problem is there is no uniformity in state choices of who they use or how they guarantee the voting machine accuracy..Its left to the vendor of the machines used... WTH??? Why???

Standards are set but how verified or inspected is pretty much left to the state.. I believe we should have uniformity by Federal mandate as to which machines can be used and required publication of inspections of the machines done before and after an election....

Testing and Certification of Voting Systems~~
Local jurisdictions select and purchase voting systems, but before they are able to do so the system must go through a testing process to ensure that it meets state standards and in some cases federal standards as well. Voting system vendors are responsible for ensuring that the system is tested—often through a federally accredited Voting Systems Test Laboratory or VSTL—to the required standards. Once testing is complete, approval is issued at the state level and local jurisdictions may purchase the system.
Thirty-eight states and the District of Columbia use some aspect of the federal testing and certification program in addition to state-specific testing and certification of systems:
Nine states and D.C. require testing to federal standards (states reference standards drafted by the FEC, NIST or the EAC): Connecticut, D.C., Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Nevada, NewYork, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
Eighteen states require testing by a federally accredited laboratory: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah and Wisconsin.
Eleven states require full federal certification (in statute or rule): Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Four states refer to federal agencies or standards, but do not fall into the categories above:
Alaska: the director may consider whether the FEC has certified a voting machine when considering whether the system shall be approved for use in the state (though FEC certification is not a requirement).
California: the Secretary of State adopts testing standards that meet or exceed the federal voluntary standards set by the EAC.
Kansas: requires compliance with voting system standards required by HAVA.
Mississippi: DREs shall comply with the error rate standards established by the FEC (though other standards are not mentioned). (Note that the FEC no longer sets voting system standards.)
Eight states have no federal testing or certification requirements. Statutes and/or regulations make no mention of any federal agency, certification program, laboratory, or standard; instead these states have state-specific processes to test and approve equipment (Note that even states that do not require federal certification typically still rely on the federal program to some extent, and use voting systems created by vendors that have been federally certified):
Florida, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Vermont.
American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are also in this category.

The inaccessibility of computer code inside voting machines is rooted in another, more worrisome, set of laws, protecting trade secrecy.... “Trade-secret law makes it impossible to independently verify that” many voting machines are working properly. So our main hope for auditable elections has to be hand recounts of paper records of voting against electronic digital voting machines all having paper ballots that can be randomly verified...Yet, in some states they don’t even use a paper ballot.... (I suspect its intentional as well...)

Yet another that defines how little is really done to insure machines are accurate or tamper proof..

http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/the-canvass-january-2013.aspx

Is it no wonder you are unable to verify whether or not inspections and maintenance is even done??? For something so important there are very lyaxidascial standards!!

https://www.google.com/amp/amp.slate.com/articles/technology/future_tense/2016/12/the_real_reason_we_need_recounts_in_michigan_wisconsin_and_pennsylvania.html

Here the lastest revisions going forward..

While none of this addresses specifically what you seek it sure explains why the information is not readily available nor why the government does not mandate audits or independant inspections of the machines.. Technology isn’t always good...

https://www.eac.gov/news/2017/09/12/committee-approves-next-generation-of-voting-system-guidelines/

Not done yet.~~ Its become a mission!!

While I agree that too many of our citizens pay no attention to anything outside their daily lives, anything that doesn't directly affect them, your statement is unfair. You mention us not reading NAFTA, we NEVER get to see/read complete originals of any of these actions, including anything/everything down by congress. And certainly, we never hear about these things until they are already done deals. For 2-3 weeks now, we have been hearing about the possible DACA/immigration proposals to be considered by Congress, but we have seen a complete copy of any of them.

Philadelphia~~

http://www.phillytrib.com/news/city-volunteers-inspect-voting-machines/article_8d8f56af-cb49-51fa-8719-693fd6cd10f7.html

City and independent officials tested the city’s voting machines on Friday morning as the nation gears up for the Nov. 6 presidential election.

“People need to have faith that the result of an election is fair,” said City Commissioner Stephanie Singer, who was on hand to observe. “The basis of the whole election is the counting of the votes, and that they should be counted as cast.”

In addition to Singer, the political watchdog group The Committee of Seventy was on hand, as were campaign volunteers.

Typically both parties and both campaigns send volunteers. This year only the Obama campaign sent volunteers: Ellen Zeng and Edson Rafferty. The Romney campaign pulled out of Pennsylvania several weeks ago.

Zeng and Rafferty watch as the machines are explained and sample votes cast. In just a few seconds a technician pulls out the tape that records the votes to make sure they’ve been recorded accurately. <snip>Much more to read

Michigan checks and balances, now new machines because “irregularities “were detected ...

Tells you who does them or actually who didn’t, given their problems 2016, it tells me they weren’t checking or testing anything!
And while President Donald Trump has questioned the integrity of the vote in states, Johnson said the new system still is not connected to the Internet, and a paper trail remains because paper ballots still will be used. The state has not yet turned over voter information to the commission Trump appointed to look into voting in the nation.
