Unfortunately, you spout the same old tired "do-nothing" crap we have heard for too many years: "What kind of a gun control bill would have prevented the murders at Santa Fe?" That this particular act may or may not have been preventable does not mean sit on our hands and wait for the next inevitable one. The certifiable mentally ill make up about 20% of killers. The Santa Fe HS killer was not mentally ill; distraught, yes, but not mentally ill. You are creating an atmosphere about those who have mental illness. There is not always a "mental problem" with these mass killings.

You're solution is not sane and reasonable gun-control but a militaristic imposition in every area of our life: "Then there is the security problem...........Not enough apparently! We have got to have multiple layers of security! Metal detectors!!!! Armed and experienced security!!! We have men and women x-military that are perfect for this job!" Go shopping or to the theater or a playground or the mall or to church and run a gauntlet of security? Lol, that's your solution?

You are part of the group that supports abortion on demand for no reason other than convenience which means you support the murder of over a million babies a year in this country. So long as you support murder of babies you have no moral right to object to less than 10,000 a year killed by guns, only a small number of which are school shootings. All school shootings are terrible and there is no way to justify it but I am yet to hear you or any of your liberal ilk say the same thing about murdering babies. Hypocrites all of you.

In that same year over a million lives are saved when good people with a gun stop a criminal intent on taking their lives and property. If the good people did not have guns while the criminals had them, the death toll every year would rise astronomically but you liberals would seemingly be happy to see that, so long as you got your way in killing the 2nd Amendment and taking away my rights.

The same Liberals want to take down any border restrictions and allow open invasion with no checks by some of the most dangerous and evil scum in the world (never mind we have our own dangerous and evil scum already here - we call them Democrats) which would lead to the destruction of this country in a short period of time; Sharia law, MS13, financial ruin and the like, all due to Liberals. Yet you single out the law abiding good guy for your destruction and would willingly stand aside and watch the rape, murder and addiction to drugs that would result. I don't think Hypocrites is a strong enough word to describe you lot.

So far, if you had your way, we would see several million more deaths every year but you would call it Progress!

The real reason for the school shootings and other outrageous evil being committed in the world and in this country is the fact that we as a nation have lost our way. We have no standards any longer; we are not a moral people partly because of the attacks on religion, on the family, on education, on the police and military, on babies and the young, while encouraging drugs and celebrating brain-dead politicians, film stars and celebrities instead of the many good people who are still there, although in the minority, who are showing us how to live together without violence by example but never rate a mention by the Liberal (therefore lying) press.

Use what little intelligence you might have to study the real reasons for the school shootings and other crimes and join the Conservatives to get this country back on track. If all you can say is what your left-wing heroes tell you to say, save your breath because I for one am sick of hearing it.

I'm a Democrat. I can only thank the God and Goddess that there are armed personnel at Santa Fe High School, or the carnage would, without a doubt, have been much greater. That may also have been a contributing factor in the shooter surrendering.

In Texas there are no state laws prohibiting a minor from possessing firearms, including handguns and semiautomatic assault weapons. Minors do not even need parental permission to be in possession of a firearm
