For Not For Profit Organization 501 (c) (3), is tax exempt. This has been true for so many years now. Several presidents came and go and this was applied by tax exempt organizations. The Evangelicals who receive so much donations from members of their church benefit most. That is why those Pastors, Jeremiah Wright, all Muslim Mullahs of their Mosques, are tax exempt. These people become so rich just within few years of serving their organization. But they stay lifetime for the benefit. Notice the wealthiest and multi-millionaire pastors are Evangelicals, Mullahs, Jeremiah Wright.

Except those mentioned above, most churches provide charitable services to the poor, needy, homeless, take care for orphan children. There is Catholic Church that provide homes for the orphans, raise, train, and teach them how to become responsible adults.
The Catholic churches send the nuns, priests, missionaries all over the world to help the most needy countries. They build them schools, teach them how to do agriculture productively, build them water supplies, provide medical care.
Around the United States, catholic churches do the same except on a broader scale. Fact is our church has completed a 20 unit apartments for the homeless. We prioritize the homeless mothers with children. Our Church continuously provide homeless or poor with donated necessities for the poor. Household items, personal needs are provided for free.
Fact of the matter is it was the Catholic Church who built the most number of Catholic hospitals in the US. There are nuns serving the very poor like the Little Sisters of the Poor. Catholic education was the first to build schools in the entire US. Today, tens of thousands of Catholic Schools provide the best education all over the US. Those who could not afford are given free scholarship programs.
John 21:17
…17 Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was deeply hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me?” “Lord, You know all things,” he replied. “You know I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. "
The Evangelical church of Rev. Graham also provide charities for the poor, especially in Africa, and other parts of the world. I remember during the Ebola crisis, in 2015, Rev. Graham sent several medical doctors and nurses to a part in Africa, providing the people affected with medical care, medicine, and others services.
