No kidding. In spite of what Democrats preach to their voters, America is a Capitalist country with an economy that responds to Capitalist friendly government policies. Working Americans are seeing bigger paychecks because of a cut in their federal payroll taxes. They are also seeing bigger paychecks because employers are hiring more full time and less part time and also because as the rich Capitalist-Pig-Dogs are seeing a better investment environment they are bidding up the price of skilled labor.

As far as dividends, I bet you are richer than me, and I am an investor who collects dividends. In the modern world many many many people of modest means dare to invest in the stock market. I know it is, as Count Floyd used to say, " Spooky Scary " to invest in the stock market, but for a lot of us what is good for Wall Street is good for us.

Riiiiight, I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the next crash the GOP is going to put us in...again. I'd like to say he who laughs last, laughs the loudest, but I'm afraid we'll all be crying in our beer...

You wait around and eventually you will be right. Predict the end of the world and one day you will get it right. In the meantime I will make money. Enough to ride out the next crash. After the 2007-09 crash all I heard was the gloom and doomers. Spooky Scary. Stay out of the market. You don't even know what caused the last crash. Hint, it was not tax cuts for the rich. Anyone who did not panic and stayed in from the crash until now has done fantastic. Even if we have another crash, all you have to do is ride it out.

Just where do you put your money ? A mattress, slot machine, lottery tickets ? Mutual index stock funds are almost idiot proof for a poor working person to become rich. All you have to do is keep putting in on a regular schedule and not panic every time the market drops. In 10 to 20 years you will have doubled, tripled, or quadrupled your money. Hooray for Capitalism.

Trump just redistributed the wealthy from the ACA and his so called tax breaks to give the tax breaks to the wealthy, giving them less tax on dividends, while we are still in debt from the Bush unpaid war. He's also done this without any incentive to be repaid to the government with moving ahead with sustainable energy and staying competitive but none of that has happened with Trump has it, that shows his true intention right there, not to improving and building the US, but the true globalists... the elite wealthy, who really have no loyalty to any country except to themselves, People as the Trumps, Koch's, Popes, Murdock's, so and so on. The only thing that motivates them is money for power.

I see them for the work that their manipulations do which is very much against our American ideology. If you want to include Soros go right ahead or whomever you see fit. But let me ask you, who do you think was behind "corporations are people too". Have you bought into that premise?

...and if anyone is party before country it is the corporate party...

Actually, I want the big money out of politics. It's a pipe dream, I know. Big money powers, and controls everything on both sides. That's why we're in the shape we're in.
You don't matter, I don't matter. What matters is power, and money.

Ok, so for the most part, we are on the same page. If you think you don't matter, you won't matter. If we stand up together, we definitely matter. Who we put in office definitely matters especially in our state representatives. The trick is to get nonpartisan people in there who as you pointed out don't put party before country, I am completely with you there Arch. I will never be a party member again...F'm.

But what does happen in Congress is what we allow to happen. Now isn't the time to throw our hands up and say fuckitall, now is when we start to stand up and say that's not happening on our watch any longer, to get more involved to see what our representatives are doing and Not vote them back in if they aren't for us.

The kids today are having this fed up attitude including my 17 year old son, with the disgusted attitude of "it doesn't matter". He's wrong Arch and so are you...it does matter...very much, otherwise you might as well give them this country on a silver platter. Isn't this country worth fighting for? Worth the hassle? I'm fairly certain it does matter to you, you're just feeling a bit disgusted...understandable, me too at times but we have to brush ourselves off and keep going.

The framers of our constitution tried to put laws and rules in place in an attempt to ward off corruption with gifts, favors, and money, we should be not only enforcing that more but extending it domestically, including and especially with a lobbyist. It isn't being put in a bill because all of them don't want to shoot the golden goose. We need people to pledge they will do it when in office. Money is a cancer to our governing, we need to pinch off, stop the flow, then it will correct itself. JMHO
