I would not call myself ILL-informed. I do not know every little detail on every issue, I don't have time to look up every little thing either, but when I have time to study politics I do it as thoughtfully as I can. I will look through this long list soon, other matters await till' then.

I think it takes some experience to keep up when the "Fur starts flying". Some Liberal or Conservative posters are really good at putting in some good jabs. As a relatively new person here, I find it hard to know when someone is angry or just being sarcastic, as not everyone uses the emoticons and I'm not always sure I understand some of them :?:

Anyway, this place has become pretty addictive and I am challenged to balance this virtual hobby with real life.

I came here because the posted topic was worth discussing and it lighten the up my mood after some serious discussions. I have the same difficulty. People post things that sound so harsh. I then respond with a clam down things could be worse for them to say....I was making a joke or it was sarcasm. Without the benefit of an emotioncon or a LOL... something to give a hint to the emotion, how the heck are we supposed to know. Anyway, I was not trying to be critical of anyone, just inviting the post creator back into the conversation.

Oh you never know,, some people are not as eloquent, but are very very concerned,,, one of the major problems is trusting others. That is something that so many people have been burned on, that they really dont want to try anymore.

What can be learned from our political mess, is simply if you dont govern yourself,, ie through religion, through morals, through decency, education, or even sex, someone will fill the void and govern you.

True, many of us have become jaded. I too find it hard to "trust" the people I meet on line. I keep putting myself out there, and conversations will continue and all of a sudden there is a complete shift. At times it is like talking with Mr. Jeckel and Mr Hyde. All we can do is be ourselves, ensure we do due diligence in research, and present the facts as we see them. Our facts may not fit with other's ideas of truth..... but, is that not the condition of human nature? We think we are communicating and on the same page, just to learn that the other person has not understood a single words we say. Like marriage..... LOL

This forum is another virtual world where people can be whatever they want, say whatever they want and there are few, if any, repercussions. Some people may be completely different in real life. Who Knows? I get criticized, in real life, for saying what I think and/or saying it too loudly. I don't know if folks are afraid of being sued, beat up, killed or what it is.

There is a difference between being rude and telling the uncomfortable truth. Here it's easy to be rude and disrespectful. In real life people are rude and don't seem to realize it, or care, but are quick to point out if they think someone is rude to them. When shopping and someone is blocking the whole aisle while talking on their cell phone, I ask them to move and they look at me like I'M the one being rude. Makes no sense to me.

There is a difference between a debate and "arguing for the sake of arguing". When a statement/idea/position is presented here, it is open for debate, that is, an opposing idea etc. I think that if you just want agreement, then start your own website, if you just want to argue, there are sites for that as well. When I FIRMLY believe something, I don't need confirmation from anyone and disagreement doesn't phase me. I don't have to convince anyone of anything nor do I have to defend myself. It is what it is and I often fail to understand why people do the things they do.

The real paradox of the OPP is the many variations of the 'truth' one may read. In actuality, we are more alike as a nation of people than we are apart in our differences.

I also listen to Hal Lindsey who reports all this kind of info and how it's related to the end times. It will be Christians against muslims and their islam law of sharia. Just wait and see. Anybody that doesn't believe this is too scared to admit it's going on. They just want to hide behind their beliefs. It's much more than democrat and republican parties. This is the time to start pulling together and start fighting against sharia law in America. It needs to start with what our kids are being taught in the schools. It needs to start now.
