Our military spending is a total of 62% when Veteran benefits are included.
Where did the chart come from. Is it discretionary spending or mandatory spending (entitlements) or both? It appears to be discretionary spending which leave out the large entitlement spending in welfare programs. But also, food stamps are not the only example of welfare.
I've included a breakdown of 2015 spending, as well as a pie chart for 2017 when Trump had increased the defense budget. These are the official figures from the US Federal Government.
