My first handgun was a Sears and Roebuck .22 caliber Hi Standard Target Pistol. It was a nine shot revolver with a nine inch barrel. I practiced drawing and aiming without bullets many times before I loaded the gun and practiced drawing. When I progressed to cocking the revolver as I drew, I had a little mishap. My finger was on the trigger and the gun went off blasting the sand about two inches in front of my boot. I quit the fast draw games because I didn't want to be called "Gimpy"
The revolver had an extremely light trigger pull, perfect for target shooting but dangerous as could be for any fast draw showboating.
