I am a man born in a time when the people of our country were unashamed of their belief in God. Today it seems that the citizens of America have drifted away from these beliefs. When we consider the rise of homosexuality, the tragedy of the black race, and the election of a Godless president, it is disheartening to us old folks.
My time on earth is dwindling down to the day of my passing. Until that day there is little hope that I will see a positive change in our America. In fact, according to the scriptures, we can only look forward to a time of tribulation.
But no one seems to be concerned and our youngsters seem to be lost in the wickedness.
Is ther at least one person who is unashamed to express their brief in God ? If so please post a message stating so. It sure would help to make today a little less lonely

I absolutely believe in God. Perhaps not by the same name, but the same God.

I believe in the almighty God of the Holy Bible, and in His only Son, Jesus Christ, my Savior.

I believe in God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ aw well as the Holy Spirit that makes up the trinity. I can tell you for a fact that God has interfered in my life in a number of different circumstances and these circumstances will be forever sketched on my mind and I will never believe differently. God His Son and the Holy Spirit are alive and well and in control of this planet and all that is happening. Remember we know the end of the story and the other side only thinks that they have an answer. Our side wins in the end. It is also prophesied that the end will not come except a falling away occur first. Hang tight and keep believing.

Dear Wolf Counselor

Move over! Snoopy is right with you!

We can sit on the religion bench together and root that God will rescue our country from the evil that has befallen us.

There are a lot more people on here that believe in God then don't. It's just that those that don't are such loud mouths.

I think the biggest problem we have as far as religion in the States is, the Christian community are so used to turning the other cheek and letting someone get away with something, that they have just remained silent to long. A lot of them are starting to wake up and speak up now and it is going to get more people speaking up. We are tired of the left walking all over us and taking advantage of our soft spoken manors. When they gang up on one person in court, none of the others come to his aid. I think that is going to change now and the left is going to find that they really are in the minority in this country.

Another problem in the Christian community is that many churches and church leaders have focused more on finances and increasing their congregation for the sole purpose of monetary gain. An example of this abomination is the ever increasing number of T.V. Evangelists who encourage their members to empty their pockets. While their souls remain empty and their hopes unfulfilled.

Unfortunately too true, but we do still need to check ourselves and make sure that sometimes God isn't calling us to give a bit more of ourselves. This is the biggest reason I'm against the whole "redistribution of wealth" thing... I earned my money and therefore have the right (after the first tenth which I believe God commands) to give it where and to whom I decide, not the president, not the congress, and not anyone else. Sorry for the rant and mini hijack of this thread.
You will find many Christians here and many who aren't. All have opinions and ideas and all are loved by God whether they want to be or not.

Also at the beginning of our great country the preachers used to preach from their pulpits on what political topics of the day were and there relation to the Holy Scriptures. This is one reason that the federal government forbade them to preach on these topics or they would lose their tax exempt status. It was after that that the democrat party really started taking off as the churches could not preach against them for fear of losing their tax exempt status and our country has been on a decline ever since as the churches have become impotent since that time forward. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 So we have to humble ourselves as well as preach it from every pulpit in every church and then you will see a major turnaround in this country.

I am a "bible thumping" born-again non-church going Christian who is a sinner but is constantly trying to become more like Jesus by asking Him everyday to reform my mind to be like His. I don't believe in organized religion but I definitely believe that Jesus has saved me by dying on the cross for me and granting me eternal life.

Not trying to beat you up or anything but don't forget the whole "foresake not the gathering of believers" which is a reminder that we need to be in a church where people can help us grow. I personally had horrible experiences with my FIRST 4 CHURCHES... basically, the pastors turned out to be the least healthy (spiritually) members. I quit going to church for a while and fortunately my wife kept looking. She found a church nearby that was fully grounded in the word, the pastor is absolutely non-judgmental and is a very mature Christian who isn't out to get rich (he and his wife sold their house to help the church when the economy collapsed and they drive cars that a guy puts together from totaled vehicles). I'm not saying a pastor has to do these things, just trying to show how he is.
I encourage you to keep trying to find a home church until you do. A good church should challenge you but never condemn you, should boldly talk about financial things (like tithes and offerings) but not to the point that they are hurting their members or doing it for obvious personal gain (the pastor can drive a nice car and live in a nice home, but shouldn't have the best of both in the entire congregation). A good church should also encourage you and you would never leave a good church feeling worse than when you entered. And btw, there is no such thing as the perfect church unless you can find one with no members, and of course don't join it because you will mess it up! ;-)
Anyway, I'm not trying to judge you and I know that I don't know your circumstances, but just want to encourage you as someone who has really struggled with organized religion (and finally realized that Christianity isn't about the religion) and has found a church home where he can grow, struggle and even fall down without being judged. Sorry for the long rant on this, but I'm obviously passionate about this subject even though I'm not nor have any interest in becoming, a pastor.
Finally, you should probably quit trying to be a good Christian, there is no such thing. A Christian is someone who has accepted Christ and that is that. If you feel God is calling you to give something specific up (conviction) then do so, if you feel "I'm a horrible person because..." that is condemnation and is absolutely not from God. I hope this encourages you. Btw, if you find some of my other posts around this board, you'll see that there is no way I can claim to be perfect and I really don't want to.
Oh, if you find a church that is putting signs together saying "God Hates Fags" run, I believe someone is going to have to answer for that someday.
