I would agree with you if you could show that these billionaires are collecting Social Security? However, based on SS's own criteria they cannot collect benefits.

I beg to differ with you I was a government employee for 37 years and I not only paid the maximum into Social Security. And, one other fact you are unaware of is that retired government employees only receive around 25% of what you are or would get upon retirement. Because you were unaware of this fact I have my doubts pertaining to the others who you say do not pay into SS.

perma, The reason that Democrats don't get convicted of their crimes is that the politicians don't do the dirty work themselves, they use their "Useful Idiots", they have folks much lower than them to kill, lie,and steal,etc. Only U.S. Presidents have ever been impeached, both were Democrats to be impeached, Bill Clinton and Andrew Jackson.

Privatization would be worse. Wall Street bankers would reap a windfall of commissions and fees if Social Security was replaced by risky private accounts, and private, for profit health INSURANCE corporations would make billions more if Medicare was privatized. Look at what privatization did to Chile's retirement system.

I am a retired teacher in Georgia. Every month, AS and Medicare were deducted from my check. I also chose to participate in the Teachers Retirement System. When I began my retirement, I discovered that Social Security penalized me for having another retirement plan, so, though I paid into SS for over 35 years, I only get less than $400 monthly and Medicare is deducted from that. This never has seemed right to me, but, you'd better believe I am so glad that I did participate in the Teachers Retirement System. It has been a life saver for me.

A better question is--What do you think "they" will do about it. The ones doing the accusing and investigations are just as guilty of some immoral or illegal infarction themselves, especially when it comes to phony partisan politics.
