CNN has its liberal viewership so dumbed down and biased, that they can't even use their brains any more. There was no talk of the failure of the anti-depressant drug treatment used on the mass murderers.
Your right. But the problem goes deeper.
My wife is finishing her 3rd PHD (I'm bragging on her) and a 4.0 high merit student, her entire academic Career.
Her 3rd and last PHD is Psychology.
This is a shocker, she has 9 licenses and soon 2more. In the entire state of California, only her and two other fellows down in San Diego are educated, trained and licensed to be a Dual-Diagnostician Psychotherapist, and the only other two only have a masters degree.
So what does that mean.... 90% of psychologist only have one license, a general license and not educated or trained to be a Dual-diagnostician Psychotherapist.
Why is this important... Did you know that over 90% of mentality ill patients have multiple Borderline Personality disorders? And there are only two sources of mental illness, organic and inorganic and many with multiple Borderline Personality disorders have both. Meaning let's say a mentally ill patient is an alcoholic plus ptsd from childhood plus is a narcissist, plus sociopath, that is multiple Borderline Personality disorders and a psychologist with only a general license is not, cannot diagnose this and this is when only a Dual-diagnostician Psychotherapist is educated and trained to diagnose. At this level Dual-diagnosticians also have a DEA license to prescribe medicine. Did you know Psychiatrist are not even qualified to diagnose multiple Borderline Personality disorders? They mostly are getting there referrals from Psychologist with only a general license to write prescriptions.
There is a national crisis with over a 70% vacancy rate for psychologist with a minimum of masters degree and over a 90% vacancy rate for Dual-Diagnostician Psychotherapist qualified to properly diagnose.
So what's currently happening....... Most "counselors" working with the mentally ill do not know what they are doing and if there was not a national crisis they would not be able to even call themselves a counselor.
Medications are/can be harmful, however the severely mentally ill when properly diagnosed, medications can balance the brain chemistry and combined with one on one with a properly trained psychologist often times improves their quality of life, allowing them to properly function in society.
Currently nearly every patient my wife treats has been prescribed wrong medication she states once they have been properly diagnosed.
Imagine if there were a 70+% vacancy rate of auto mechanics and there were a 6 month or longer wait to have a qualified mechanic diagnose why your car won't run? What would auto shop owners likely do? Hire unqualified technicians?
