River Crossing

A farmer returns from the market where he'd bought a she-goat, a cabbage and a wolf (what a crazy market :-). On the way home he must cross a river. His boat is small and won't fit more than one of his purchases at a time. He cannot leave the she-goat alone with the cabbage (because the she-goat would eat it), nor he can leave the she-goat alone with the wolf (because, obviously, the she-goat would be eaten).
How can the farmer get everything safely to the other side?

The farmer first crosses from one side to the other with the goat. He leaves the goat and returns to the other side . He then takes the wolf from that side and leaves on his return to that other side, while then returning the goat. He then leaves the goat and grabs the cabbage and takes the cabbage to the other side with the wolf . He returns once more to grab the goat and comes back once again. All three are now with the farmer after the multiple crossings.

I would'a been quicker if I had known a cookie that size was gon'na be a reward I like cookies.

But, quite frankly, I had run across something very similar to this a good while back.

No! No! No! He makes a fine stew with the goat and cabbage. He and the wolf sup together to their fill. After the stew is gone he and the wolf cross together. They're all on the other side, just that some are in different form.

Stewed goat? Have you ever tasted goat meat? There's a reason why they make curry with it, almost exclusively, I might add.
