Aunti clicked the link, page looked interesting. Then got a pop up that wouldn't go away. But if you care to know. I came across a book about ten years ago and make a point to read every year. The novel is A Painted House by John Grisham. With a few minor changes, is pretty much the way I grew up. To me its written in the Faulkner style. I read the book every year to remind me where I came from. To get back to the basics. It's a clean reading, only one cuss word "shit". Would recommend it to any one that grew up in the South on a farm before the 70's. Hope my writing has been favorable. There are some here that seem to have a problem with my prose.

I know, working on it. Too many commas and not at the right time. Have always had that problem. Old dog learning new tricks. Thanks for the constructive feed back. Instead of the tongue lashing I got last night. Love your posts, always something different.

Actually, there were places you needed a comma; however, I am being benevolent tonight.
Be gentle AuntE. Even though he is a Dogface he is one of the good guys. Shoot fire, we Marines would adopt him in a nanosecond.

I was very gentle. I did not even post any edits. I found him to be a nice addition to our frivolity.
Thanks Poppa, what are my orders ?

With you in our ranks, you would out rank me. I was just a Buck Sgt. though I did lead a platoon on occasion when we lost our platoon leader.

The Call of the Wild by Jack London
According to your answers, it seems as though The Call of the Wild was based on your life experiences. Set during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush, The Call of the Wild follows the story of a dog called Buck, who is sold into service as a sled dog. Throughout the course of the novel, readers get to witness Buck's transformation from a loving family pet to a feral leader in the wild. Just like Buck, you have a restless and adventurous spirit. You have trouble conforming to your society, and seek something larger than yourself out in the world. You love nature and the wilderness, and you don't mind being alone with your thoughts for hours on end. You are destined to see parts of the world seen by few and etch out a corner of the universe for yourself.
The best summation of the novel I've read. A Call to humans, to seek and be more than what they are.
