Chuck Todd: GOP Has ‘Gone Off the Rails’ By Supporting Trump’s FBI ‘Conspiracy Theories’

I don't listen to Chuck very much but here he seems to have hit the nail on the proverbial head. The FBI is the biggest threat to Donald Trump that he's ever had. He has to destroy them or they are going to destroy him. The sad thing is how many conservatives seem determined to do his dirty work for him...

https://www.mediaite.com/online/chuck-todd-gop-has-gone-off-the-rails-by-supporting-trumps-fbi-conspiracy-theories/

Chuck Todd has little patience for what he terms President Donald Trump‘s “smear campaign” against the FBI. But the MSNBC anchor seems to have even less patience for, as he sees it, the Republican party’s enabling of that smear campaign.

Wednesday on MTP: Daily, Todd sounded off on the GOP — or, at least, many in the GOP — for anti-FBI rhetoric.

“That kind of smear campaign against the FBI leadership and that kind of willingness to embrace the president’s conspiracy theories has gone off the rails,” Todd said. “And it has gone off the rails with the help of elected Republicans who I think we all thought should know better.”

Todd went on to note that he finds the anti-FBI chatter hypocritical, considering it seems to run counter to some longtime Republican values.

“The president is facing serious allegations that he tried to corrupt this investigation,” Todd said. “And his response to those allegations is to corrupt the entire Justice Department with help from allies in the GOP which used to call itself the law and order party.”

The MSNBC host also took on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) for standing idly by.

“You could argue that their silence is a way of being complicit in this destruction of the FBI’s credibility,” Todd said.

It's clear you know nothing about what is actually taking place. Chuck Todd is a nutcase.

You're no better. You have been told by many on 1PP, pull your head out of your butt.

Chuck Todd?? Oh Lord, Pete, I don't know what to say really. Todd is just repeating the talking points that you can catch on any MSM network. I've heard compilations of media anchors and "journalists" commenting about Trump this or Trump that, and everyone of them is almost word for word. Seems like media producers are colluding with media producers to get the latest talking points scripted, then distributed to all the sock puppets. Chuck Todd is just one more bleating sheep in the herd.

FYI: Neither Trump or his admin or conservatives--you know, we Americans--have any desire to destroy the FBI. The Department of Justice, under which the FBI operates, is supposed to be apolitical with a capital "A", they are meant to administer Justice and enforce our nation's laws without bias, discrimination, or political favoritism of any sort. But when the leaders of this department and the agencies that it controls are chosen for their politics, their prejudices, their biases, and appointed to the offices then we have a serious problem. The FBI agents in the field are well aware of the corruption at the top. All you have to do is type "FBI agents in revolt" into a search engine and you will get plenty of hits.

No, Pete, neither President Trump nor we Americans want our nation's premier law enforcement agency destroyed, we want the rats run out of it so the officers and agents can do the job they are supposed to do and so something so obviously corrupt never happens again.

Hey, I listen to MSM and the talking points are his own. You don't have a TV remember. How can you judge MSM or Chuck Todd when you haven't listened for 15 years. I don't even know if Todd had pubic hair 15 years ago so it's hardly credible to judge him. As for Trump--of course he's trying to destroy the FBI, he has to else they are going to take him down. The sad thing is that you guys are helping him because as far as you are concerned anything tainted by a democrat has to be wrong...right!!!

As for your FBI agents ready to revolt that was because they didn't like the way the email scandal turned out but Comey reopened the case with 10 days to go thereby sinking Hillary's chance to be president. That seems to have quelled the revolt and begs the question as to how the FBI is helping Hillary when it's Comey who's responsible for her not being president.

Without the TV, Pete, I have learned how to find much more reliable sources. If you want to keep going with the leftist media hype, you are free to do so, but eating bullshit day after day isn't on my list of things to do.

I call him Chuck "Toad" as he looks like a stuffed toad but acts and talks more like the leftist rat that he is. He is just another leftist major media fairyboy who pimps and whores for the corrupt demonratic party and boy are they corrupt to high hell. The left has definitely lost all its marbles, as has the major players in the FBI and CIA. It is always best to have your government fear us rather than us fearing the government and right now the corrupt FBI and CIA need to be feared as they were trying to start a coup and still are with the help of the corrupt Mueller investigation.

Comey and McCabe are the ones who are destroying the credibility of the FBI, just as Lynch destroyed the credibility of the justice department.

As for Chuck Todds credibility, he never had any to destroy.

It is amazing how people on the corrupt leftist side always try to bash those moral individuals who try to expose evil and corruption in our government instead of blaming the corrupt people in these agencies. Like the saying goes, "the left doesn't fight evil but fights those who fight evil". Morality and truth are not values for the left but immorality and deceit are 2 values they love.

Silly goose. Even the democrat hired focus team has found that ms Clinton lost because she was too closely aligned with Mr Obama's policies. Comey had nothing to do with it. You could tell by his demeanor from July of 2016 on that he was between a rock and a hard place. Few people listen exclusively to the MSM anymore because of the constant stream of pap, drivel and propaganda.

Once again, PeterS shows his level misinformation. Every single accusation that Trump leveled has been shown to have a core of truth, despite all the scoffing of the MSM.

The FBI has deteriorated into a tool of the Deep State, just as any thinking observer should have known it would once J. Edgar died. And if there is any duel to the death, between Trump & the FBI, any sane citizen should be pulling for Trump.

To cite MSNBC as some kind of paragon of objectivity demonstrates how far he & his liberalism are removed from reality.

There's that inevitable liberal arrogance emerging. Those who disagree with him are 'a bunch of mindless knuckle daggers (I think he means draggers.)'

As William F. Buckley often said, liberals can not accept that it is possible to be simultaneously intelligent and conservative. Liberals have no way of accepting the work of such as Edmund Burke, St. Augustine, Thomas Jefferson & a host of others.
