Y'all who agree with the President's remark to the effect that we ought not to let people from "shithole countries" into the good ol' USA are perfectly entitled to your opinion, as long as you acknowledge that it represents a distinctly unchristian point of view. Jesus pretty clearly condemned to eternal damnation (see Matt 25: 31-46) the nations of the world that showed no compassion for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the victims of injustice--in other words, nearly every single inhabitant of the countries so crudely denigrated by Mr. Trump.

Don't know about you, but I'd prefer the Kingdom of Heaven to eternal damnation. With that in mind, I'll continue urging my Senators, Congressman, President, and anyone else who'll listen to respect citizens of impoverished nations and do whatever we can to lift them up.

Mercy, love, and peace to all and God bless us, every one.

Do you actually go to church, or are you just like President Obama used to be, and quote the Bible only for making a political point? Wouldn’t it be better to help lift them up in their own part of the world by making this country the best it can be, so we can help stabilize the part of the world where these oppressed people’s are from? Why bring them here, where they have no skills to contribute to our society, just to put them on welfare and live in poverty and take the chance on terrorism, or being a financial burden on our society? It’s time we take care of our own people first (homeless, opioid addicts etc.). Besides that we are twenty trillion dollars in debt, how do you propose to pay for all of your peace, love and mercy?

I don't think we should be sending one thin dime to any other countries until we are out of debt.
How can we be "the richest country in the world" when we are instead the most heavily indebted country in the world?

The bible tells you that is why God destroyed Sodom and Gomora, they were wealthy cities but ignored the poor!!That's what enraged God the most!

You are guilty of self deception and wishful thinking the US does not even place in the top 12 countries that help impoverished nations. The top Country is Denmark then Sweden, Norway, Finland The Netherlands, and France People want to believe that America is the tops In every thing but the only thing we are tops at is military power

True, which is one reason why people from Norway really have no desire to move here. It came down to capitalists loyalty, it's not country first, it is profit first, they're basically Capitalistic Nomads.

First, who has declared them skilless, second, the only people who can get any kind of federal assistance are students, a non-citizen I don't believe is entitled to welfare, you have to be a citizen. But you can correct me with some kind of validation.

Morgan of course they get assistance. They go to our schools, hospitals, transit. This of course strains the systems. Most are unskilled. Most are uneducated. Way it is.

As usual, you are wrong. I don't know why anyone is surprised. The United States gives more than 10 billion per year MORE than the next closest country. The countries you mentioned give a larger percentage of their GNP, but that is all. The United States gives more than 30 billion per year, followed by Germany with a little over 20 billion. Sweden, which you claim gives more, gives only 8 billion.
Stop lying. We know you hate the US. At least try to not be such a blatant liar.

I believe a flat tax or sales tax would hurt the poor. Say the tax was 10%. If you are making 50k that's 5k plus state tax if you have it plus FICA 9% plus state sales tax (in Illinois 7-8%) so with a state tax grand total of tax is 30% (assuming a state tax of 3%) that's $15000 leaves you with 35k or just under 3k per month.. Now let's say you make 25k. Taxes are 30% that's 7500. Leaves you with 17500 or just under 1500 per month. Not doable.

This is absolutely true Lets say you made five billion last year and the flat tax was 15 % your tax would be 750 million but your brother made $25,000 his tax would be $3,750 leaving you with $21, 250 to live on who will be most impacted. You would be stuck trying to live on 4 billion two hundred and fifty million but that what Hedge fund Mgr. John Paulson paid in 2009 on his five billion profit betting the housing bubble would burst because its was all Cap gains tax of 15 %

America's Philanthropy: Statistics Not the same as foreign aid. The top figure is $390 billion, 71% of which comes from individual (private) donations. 67% of American households donate to charities.

I worked for a company that sponsored an orphanage in Mexico. Twice a year, a sign up sheet was posted for employ volunteers who would travel at company expense to the site in Mexico. There we worked for two weeks at a stretch, (earning our regular wages) to build the facility. The Mexican adult caretakers and the orphaned children were extraordinarily grateful and a joy to be with. It was fun having a 12 year old Mexican girl teaching you to habla espanol.

The American people are some of the most generous folks on earth Both my oldest daughter and my grand daughter have made a similar trip to Mexico to help build homes. My daughter through her public high school and the grand daughter through her church

"The deficit is running over $440billion and headed higher with the new tax deform bill."
If the economy keeps improving that number should go the other way.
Unless we factor in a war with NK.
