Let me repost for you..."don't know about other peoples turtle problems"... there should be some way to live & let live unless there is too much greed involved...
Now bird buddy are you trying to bait me into a federal turtle conspiracy issue now??... either way the Germans are going to take over Monsanto for 66 billion... don't now how many of the 300 million acres goes with it...
No baiting here. just an honest answer from you. Apparently that is not going to happen.
I wonder why?
What do you have to say about the attack on the ranchers in Nevada to save the dessert tortoise?
Or going after the ranchers (the Hammonds) in Oregon?
Are you for the family ranchers and family farmers becoming something from the past?
That is what the federal agenda is. More Americans better wake up to that agenda.
Would you like to be dependent on corporate farming like Monsanto for your food supply?

Hey Arch... I thought Texans had a special sauce for everything...
We do, but there's some things you can't put enough sauce on, an make taste good. Raw oysters being a prime example.

Tabasco and lemon juice do just fine.

Raw oysters don't need a sauce but seafood cocktail sauce is okay.

Here in NC we have an excellent special sauce for raw oysters ... cold beer...

Here in Texas, we eat rattlesnake. Beer battered, and fried. No sauce needed.

It's a dryland version of a turtle. There are only 2 left on the planet, both male. But the government has to procure millions of acres of land in order to insure their proliferation, and continuation of the species existance.
But, due to global warming, it's hot in the desert now, and those guys just aren't in the mood anymore.

Same here... except the ones with briefcase's in silk suits... Many have been shot but traditionally we don't eat them but maybe beer battered & fried...

Be fast & cheap to rent a room with good A/C & a Brokeback mountain movie to aid in their proliferation ...if they are the last two of their kind maybe its stress related???...

I don't mind the tarantulas. You gotta really piss one off to get it to give you any trouble. My wife HATES em! You know, they crawl around looking all spidery, and stuff!😂 It's weird, they come out in late Summer, and cross the roads from East to West by the thousands around here.
We've also had a couple of horses bitten by rattlesnakes. Both young, and bitten right between the nostrils. We (my wife) had a Corgi who was bitten several times over the years. The last time, he was bitten 5 times on the snout by the same snake. He survived it, somehow. I'll say he was tenacious in order not to dishonor his memory. He was my wife's best friend, protector, and a pain in my ass for 15 years. I miss that damn dog for some reason now.
And what kind of crazy place do you live in where you can't kill a dangerous creature like a rattlesnake?

Live down on the coast in NC, forestation is prolific with a lot of swamps and creeks with all the things that go along with that, including lots of water moccasins that like stay up in the trees. One reason why I don't kayak on the rivers and creeks LOL. I've already had a snake fall on me, was up in the door jam of the porch, I open the door and it fell almost on my head
but landed on my shoulder, slid down my arm and slithered away. I was never the same again, when I go for walks I look up.... and down. My freind did have one fall in her skiff and one in her car while she was driving... that would do it for me. She had brought some things in from her barn and put them in the back of her car, well the next day she went for a drive...Jeeez.
Our horse was bitten on the snout too, makes sense as they sniff along picking and grazing. That's amazing for your dog to be Ok, considering it's size.
Tarantulas, yep I think I'm with your wife on that one, I'm glad that's one pesky critter I don't have to worry about.

I've spent some time do in Southeast Texas where water moccasins, and copperheads are everywhere. They will keep you alert just looking out for them! At least a rattler will say "Hey! I'm right here! You're in my space! Move!"
