I just responded to a comment by Chocura, who says she thinks Trump is anti American.

It prompted me to ask her what her definition of American is.

She has yet to respond.

The best example I could find of a president who is anti American is of course Barack Obammy.

Here's why.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/obama-administration-paid-iran-1.7-billion-in-cash/article/2004189#!

Obammy gave away over a billion taxpayer dollars to Iran, "IN CASH".

This makes Obammy a glaring example of an anti American.

Because in return, the president of Iran says this.

All the real news reports I read say that it was Iran's money which had been impounded. I believe it is Anti-American to refer disrespectfully about a man who has twice been elected President of the United States

Lowlife scumbag obama, tried to lie his way around his crime by saying that it was only American currency that was prohibited and that's why he traded dollars for foreign money and then gave it to Iran..what a stupid statement by obama..

Then maybe you should look back at a bit f history instead of blindly believing "real" news reports. They got their real news from what Obama told them. So on to a bit of history.

When the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, fled the revolution which put the Ayatollah Khomeini in power; his estimated wealth was in the billions dollars. But he didn't have ready access to it. A personal loan from Rockefeller was given a personal loan of $500 million. The Shah traveled from country to country seeking either asylum and/or medical treatments. Shortly after he was allowed into the US, our embassy in Tehran was seized and all in the embassy taken hostage in retaliation for not sending the Shah back to Iran on demand. The Shah was in the hospital at the time undergoing cancer treatments. Carter had the Shah expelled from the US but that wasn't enough to release the hostages. And the Shah's money in the Chase Manhatten bank was seized by our government. This was NOT Iranian money. It was money from the personal loan by Rockefeller. It wasn't loaned to Iran, but to Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. But whoever it was loaned to, loans need to be paid back with interest. If it were true that the money loaned to the Shah was for Iran, Iran would owe the money and the interest minus whatever amount had been seized. Iran demanded expression of remorse or an apology for the United States' historical role in Iran, unlocking of "Iranian assets in America [the Shah's money seized from Chase Manhatten] and withdraw any legal claims against Iran arising from the embassy seizure, and promise not to interfere in the future. Cater agreed to all but the apology. Negotiations stalled over the amount of money. Iran saying it was 40 to 50 billion, when it was actually 40 to 50 million. Considering the original loan was 500 million, and the Shah's lifestyle, security, and entourage were costly; the figure of 40 to 50 million seems realistic. While it was impossible that the 500 million dollar loan had morphed to 40 or 50 billion dollars. But Obama chose to accept that the US owed Iran 40 billion dollars. The negotiations continued once Reagan was elected. The final agreement is known as the Algiers Accords was signed in January 19, 1981. The Algiers Accords called for Iran's immediate freeing of the hostages, the unfreezing of $7.9 billion of Iranian assets and immunity from lawsuits Iran might have faced in America, and a pledge by the United States that "it is and from now on will be the policy of the United States not to intervene, directly or indirectly, politically or militarily, in Iran's internal affairs". A tribunal was appointed to deal with claims of Americans who were harmed by the revolution's take-over in Iran. Iran put 2 billion into an escrow account to pay for thoe claims which had to be filed by a certain date [can't remember exactly but in the early 80s. 1981, or 1982 at the latest.] The claims totaled more than Iran had placed in escrow.

On later dates, Iran has several times taken hostages and demanded money or arms for their release. When Iran has been paid ransom, it usually results in more hostages being taken.

So there you have it. According to Obama, we owed Iran 40 billion dollars for seizing 40 to 50 million dollars of money which did not belong to them anyway.

Thank you for the excellent explanation of the money that ended up in Iran and , by all information available, is being spent on terrorism and the underground nuclear manufacturing facilities.

$1.7 Billion, in cash. Just sitting around. Right. I mean, everyone has that kind of money just lying around, right? Do you really believe that? If you do, I know a guy who knows a guy who has some really prime seafront property in Kansas you might want to invest in. You can triple your money by tomorrow morning! Just let me know and I'll get him to sign you up.

OK, sarcasm aside. Impounded assets are generally held in a special escrow account and disseminated by transferring those assets to the account of the owner after whatever applicable sanction is lifted. Impounded money does not get transferred via transportation of pallets of money in the middle of the night under extreme secrecy. That's not how it works.

No, this was a transfer of some serious funds to a regime that is well known to sponsor terrorist activities world-wide, and especially in support of attacks on both Israel and the United States. Where do you suppose Hamas gets all its rockets from? How do you suppose ISIS got its start?

Impounded my ass. It was a payment, pure and simple.
