As of 12:01 AM Christmas Day, I will bite my tongue for 24 hours. If I can't be polite, I won't say anything.

The truce over a holiday suggestion of non-insult is just what decent people do everyday without making it a big deal; it is not Herculean or even exceptional. The Right apparently finds it so because insult appears to be their only defense. Take away that and they are mum for the holidays. A few too many loaded Egg Nogs and they are left to berate their wives and children.
