BTW...your appreciation for this particular scripture is gratifying. Scripture has everything!

Wonderful point, BM, did not see it. Thank you. I have the same "problem" with the BB: someone keeps editing to make it more profound on every read. Putting it in a safe does not help. Very strange. I'll catch that guy sooner or later. Or I can hope.

The Bible says the antichrist will come from the north of Israel. That would be Syria. He is called the king of the north, the Assyrian, man of sin, etc. He gets his power from the beast. He will set himself up in the temple as if he is God and begin beast worship. The temple is being built as we speak. God said he will gather his people back to Israel. That is also happening now as well. Bible prophesy has always been spot on. When the 7 year peace treaty between Israel and the antichrist is made it's pretty much count down to 3 1/2 years when the antichrist reniges on the agreement and the you know what hits the fan.

II oten think that i God could use an evil Pagan king like Neburchadnezzer, and he used a donkey to speak through, He can use ANYTHING or ANY ONE. We ALL better be careful about judging who we think is too evil to be of any good.

There are things in scripture that we are not meant to understand, especially the second coming of Jesus and the antichrist. Jesus, himself, said that he does not know the day or hour when He will return to take His Bride, the Church home with Him. I think so many fall into the trap of trying to figure what will happen at the end. Don't worry about when it will come but worry about will you be ready when it does.

That would mean the feet of iron and clay and the ten toes of iron mingled with clay in Nebuchadnezzar's vision was not the Holy Roman Empire...what was left of the legs of iron.

I just don't see the King Of the North being a Syrian.

Syria is barely a country...although it will be used as an invasion route.

God refers to Pharaoh as "My servant" and the pagan king Cyrus was mentioned by Isaiah 180 years prior.

Cyrus was impressed enough to help the Jews rebuild their Temple.

God uses who he wants to accomplish what He wants when He wants and no one can stay His hand or question His methods.

I beg to differ. God says when the time is right, and it is, a lot of folks will understand.

Daniel 12:9-10

9) He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.

10) Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

Daniel 11:33

33) Those who are wise will instruct many

Trump is here to blow up the Establishment. God wants that and God will even use Trump if His church is too sorry to get the job done. Unjust Judges (rulers) are one of His pet peeves. He says so in more than one place in scripture. When God repeats things it's best to pay attention.

God did not and does not support slavery. Or divorce for that matter. But he chose his people and gave them a writ of divorcement because they wanted it. He meant for a man and woman to be together for life. Same with slavery. Every nation back then took slaves from other defeated nations, so God gave them rules on how to treat their slaves. He did it because they were going to do it anyway. Didn't Israel rebel against God at every turn? When our first settlers came over the pond, they were indentured servants... or slaves...for 7 years. Black slavery would have been impossible were it not for coastal tribes that raided other tribes inland. God didn't invent or support slavery. Mankind did.

You have free will. God endowed you as such and allows you to make your own decisions for better or worse. However, He has promised to judge you based on how you exercise that free will. You have been provided with a set of guidelines that you ignore at your peril. Come the Judgement Day, you just might find yourself being done unto as you have done unto others, and if you're a slave owner, well... You get the idea.

He allowed those things. It was a different time. He allowed polygamy and other things as well for the same reason but He did not tell the Hebrews to practice those things. They were everyday realities everywhere in those days.

I came to something of the same conclusion. Dystopia ruin is next. Maybe then we get "the eyes to see."

It's going to get worse before it gets better if scripture is to be believed...and I do.
