Like Manifest Destiny. Or slavery. Or Jim Crow Laws. Or the attack on Native Americans for 200 hundred years, breaking every treaty. Or the determent of Japanese-Americans. Or the Spanish-American War. Or the Mexican-American War. Or the Korean War. Or the Viet Nam War. Or laws against inter-racial marriage. Fascism hit America when our Constitution was ratified; slavery was allowed and many citizens, the majority, denied a vote. Only White landowners were recognized as first class citizens that could vote. I am not saying that is a bad idea, but it is fascist.

We are not a pretty nation. What has saved us is a Free Press. Wrongs, thanks to this institution, have been amazingly rectified. That with all our sins we continued to allow a Free Press to call us to confession and change is our exceptionalism as a nation. No country in all of history would allow this saving liberty. To undermine a Free Press is to betray America and its ideals. Enter Trump.

To me it means the way the demorats have tried to cause the destruction of Trump.They have tried to use lies "Russia" collusion,have nit picked every word he says and yes even nit picked

The press stopped being “free” long before Trump. Hopefully, he’s nothing more than a mid-course correction. Events of the last few decades have forced all manner of truths into the light..........so........what will we do about it?!
