If someone's house collapsed, Kevyn would call for a framing hammer ban. since it's obvious that if the framers hadn't had framing hammers the house would not have collapsed.

It's the 'gun' part, isn't it? If a nail gun was called something else, like, say, a 'nail installer', would that make it more acceptable to use?
