I stand corrected. I have seen some seriously slightly inebriated Marines in my time. I'm glad to know they were not drunk.

Marines aren't like their Naval brethren, the Swabbies, who are unable to handle more than three libations of any type.

I am happy I was able to clear up any misapprehensions you may have had regarding the after-effects of Marines and their drinking habits.

That remains the drink of choice for The Sgt. Major.

I had to talk down a few in Okinawa, who forgot they were not still in Nam.

Nope....It's a 1956 Crown Victoria. I used to have one, except mine was black and red instead of white and red.

Yep 1956 Ford Crown Victoria hard top. Nope not a retractable hard top. A little medallion on the front fenders assured you that there was a Thunderbird engine under the hood.
I put lots of miles on a 1956 station wagon, two tone green. Great car.

Dang it!!! Thanks ENSQ, I should’ve googled his name for spelling accuracy. 👍 And I should’ve put the word “for” before “businessman” 😔

The McDonald's #1 Store Museum is housed in a replica of the former McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, opened by Ray Kroc in April 1955. The company usually refers to this as The Original McDonald's, although it is not the first McDonald's restaurant but the ninth; the first was opened by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California in 1940, while the oldest McDonald's still in operation is the third one built, in Downey, California, which opened in 1953. However, the Des Plaines restaurant marked the beginning of future CEO Kroc's involvement with the firm. It opened under the aegis of his franchising company McDonald's Systems, Inc., which became McDonald's Corporation after Kroc purchased the McDonald brothers' stake in the firm.

Thanks, Moldy. Quite an interesting story. Personally, I don’t think the burgers are worth more than their original price. 👍
