You still never answered the basic question. How would you implement your gun control agenda. Knock down doors? Turn millions of law abiding citizens into felons? Just making things illegal doesn't stop them.
The law to not allow this guy to legally buy a gun was on the books already. You always come up with your talking points petey but never a solution. Anyone can complain. Solutions are a different matter.

j,

You are right, we need solutions or at least some attempt at some..

What is your best idea for a solution??

I honestly believe it is an impossible situation. We must either one, change the culture or two become a police state. Both seem unattainable. There are gun laws on the books. Hardly ever enforced. Enforcing existing laws would be a start. Anyone convicted of murder with a gun automatic death penalty. No long drawn out appeal is a thought. If you purchase a gun I would like to see the FBI not only do a background check but a prescription drug check. Those on certain medications would be denied and have to supply further proof of competence. This measure I am not completely comfortable with because as you know I am not a big believer in the integrity of the government.

Gee J,

With a good amount of finagling, I pretty much agree with you..

And these realities are dismaying to me..

Maybe I would say wipe the existing laws off the books and set up some new ones. Then demand enforcement..

but is real life.. seem a hopeless problem..

Enforcement of existing gun laws would help. But NO law is going to stop a determined criminal or psycho from getting a gun. Criminals do NOT obey laws. Murder is against the law. Does that stop people from getting murdered? Law abiding citizens have the RIGHT to possess and own guns. The danger from criminals and psychos that poses is the price we pay for being free. Be ever vigilant.

Yessir! I'll take my chances with the criminals and psychos and NEVER surrender my Second Amendment Rights to government and open myself up to oppression. Hope a lot (millions) feel the same way.

couldn't agree more. I believe Ben Franklin had a quote about giving up freedoms for security.

Just a thought. Laws are on the books in an attempt to control behavior of people who have a disregard for their fellow man. If everyone behaved properly , no laws would be necessary for anything. Going back to root cause. Improper direction beginning early in life being largely responsible for the people turn out. This coupled with mental issues about covers the problem. No easy solution in sight but finding causes, identification and then help for mental failures would begin to put an end to these issues. I think it safe to say, anyone killing another is evidence of being nuts.
To use a buzzword for lack of another.

This is what is being ignored by the Media. Mass murderers on prescribed pharmaceuticals.
Notice all the WARNINGS at the end of ALL their commercials;
and the cattle just keep right on grazing with out paying any attention.

Now consider why this is blacked out.

Yeah but the bad guy was finished being a bad guy when the good guy happened to stop by.

Let's use a little common sense here! The bad guy was leaving.... the good guy gave chase..... the bad guy got in his truck with more guns while wearing his bulletproof vest!!!!! I don't think he was going home to have a beer and watch tv. The man had 'tasted blood' and he would go for more notches on his belt more than likely. The good guy with the gun stopped him from increasing the numbers on his belt!!!!!!!! Instead of totally concentrating of the talking points of gun control, try actually to think these things out with a little reasoning!!!! IMHO

Careful there. What you said is common sense, I'm sure you know that common sense isn't very common

We need more than prayers to stop these mass murders. Several years ago one man tries to board an airplane with a bomb in his shoe. Nobody got killed that day. From that point forward to this day every single person boarding an airplane must remove their shoes to protect the rest of us. We need an honest attempt by our government to protect us today. A good start would be to ban the sale of assault weapons and confiscate those in circulation.

You’re asked to remove your shoes for inspection, they are immediately returned to you. The government didn’t ban everyone from wearing shoes. Good grief, you gun grabbers are ignorant to the point of obnoxious.
