Wednesday evening, demonstrators crowded the NFL offices in Manhattan to demand — DEMAND — that Colin Kaepernick be signed by one of the League’s clubs, posthaste. Despite their commands, Kaepernick, who hasn’t suited up for an NFL squad since he walked away from the San Francisco 49ers in March, continues to watch league action from his couch.

According to the enraged horde, Kaepernick isn’t playing because he’s the victim of a massive racist conspiracy involving the not only the League itself, but 32 team owners. Right, because the top sports-marketing operation in American history would be willing to risk not only a body blow to their public image, but their antitrust exemption, to keep one guy off their fields. And NFL owners would definitely risk the financial stability of their various fortunes to let Kaepernick rot on the pile; because billionaire titans of industry are known for leaving money on the table. And let’s not forget the players, who might be willing to risk everything — including their very lives — for a title, but wouldn’t object to their team cutting a guy who could help them get there.

Of course, it’s also possible that Kaepernick is airing his heels this preseason because the NFL doesn’t care that much about an inconsistent player who hasn’t earned kudos for much on the field since 2014. Owners don’t like noisy prima donnas who are too busy infuriating the fan base to outduel Blaine Gabbert, and players don’t like quarterbacks who lost their championship mojo two years ago, but keep acting like they’re Joe Montana, Jr. And I can’t think of a sound mind on the planet who likes employees who get worse at their jobs while demanding more money and acting like they deserve it.

This is the part where I point out that many players continue to kneel on the sidelines to protest the country which provides them the chance to play a game for a couple dozen weeks a year for more money than most of the country will see in 10 lifetimes. That would suggest the League, the owners, the other players and the fans who pay for all of it, are perfectly willing to watch their heroes take a knee before the game, as long as they don’t do it too often over the next 60 minutes.

At least the NFL protests, unlike virtually every other one of the alt-left’s incessant shriekfests, is that they didn’t get violent. I’ll bet that might be because the NFL employs a lot of powerful dudes who can seriously injure people and powerful lawyers who can do worse.

While the NFL was taking an earful from the alt-left in New York, one of their biggest corporate partners was hiding up in Bristol, CT from an earful of their own. ESPN, terrified of potential fallout from offended liberals, reassigned sportscaster Robert Lee from the upcoming UVA-William and Mary football game. The Disney-owned sports net moved the up-and-coming game-caller away from the tilt because they were concerned that having a sportscaster named Robert Lee calling a game in Charlottesville would be offensive. A globally ubiquitous sports empire, convinced that the alt-left is so unhinged that they won’t be able to differentiate between a dead white guy and an alive Asian guy, is punishing the Asian guy for having the same name as the dead guy.

If you think a fracas over football isn’t newsworthy, then consider that the Kaepernick and Lee sagas are not remotely about football, they’re about the same thing stories involving liberals are always about… control. Control of government, control of healthcare, even control of entertainment. These are the same people who turned doctor’s visits into Obamacare. If the same people who turn everything they can’t own into blood-soaked free-for-alls get control of football, it’ll end up being soccer.

I had seen this on the progressive news channel.....my thoughts were maybe if he didn't suck so bad, he would get the money and the job he is demanding......for a second or third string position no less.

I love how underperforming and not being picked up is somehow racist......it's the commissioners fault

The left wing nuts need to find another ploy. Their racism ploy for everything is getting out of date and over used. According to the left everything is about race and how bad the white people are. This is getting sickening.

Crappynick is a wash...as a player..unless he can find work in the Canadian football league...but if this poor victim of America can't...he has money and a Mohammedist girlfriend to influence his status of being another beat down negro of whitey... maybe some day he'll go "OJ" on her ... it's been implied that she's a loose woman...but in any case...he won't be starting for any NFL team in the near future...

If "Kraperdick" was a worthy player he would be gearing up for the up coming season. This is one way to unload excess baggage.

Kaepernick chose the venue to show his disrespect for our flag and country.
Take a seat on the next flight to a country where you will feel more comfortably.

That small-minded child has been pandered to all his life and had the very best of circumstances bestowed upon his ungrateful head. Being too good to someone can backfire.. that's what happened in this case.

The 'K' child probably wonders why he 'deserved' all that good life... so, he suddenly becomes even more ungrateful and assumes a *rebel* personae... for the cameras, naturally. It is a bid for bald-faced press coverage and no doubt a run for public office down the line... maybe even the presidency of the USA?

He's a perfect example, in my opinion, of a human being striving to become a POS.

What I was thinking is those who 'take a knee' can just 'take a walk' and start up their own team. Ya, I bet that would fly.
