President Trump Vows Dramatic Shift In Afghanistan Strategy

By Jordan Fabian ~ Aug 21, 2017 ~ The Hill

President Trump on Monday announced he will not pull out U.S. troops from Afghanistan, saying he’s committed to a new strategy aimed at winning the nation’s longest war.

During a prime-time address to the nation, Trump declared a rapid exit from the war-torn nation would leave a major power vacuum that would create a new safe haven for terrorists — a result he called “predictable and unacceptable.”

The president acknowledged his “original instinct was to pull out,” a reference to his long-held view that the U.S. erred when it went entered Afghanistan and that the military should withdraw quickly.

But he said the calculation is different “when you sit behind the desk in the Oval Office" and that he has determined the U.S. must continue to fight to prevent the country from becoming a safe haven for groups like al-Qaeda and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

“The American people are weary of war without victory. I share the American people’s frustration,” Trump said, adding that, “in the end, we will fight and we will win.”

Trump’s speech at Fort Myer in Arlington, Va., was cast as an announcement of his revised strategy in Afghanistan, but he offered few specifics about his plan.

While the president is widely expected to send roughly 4,000 additional U.S. troops to the country, a recommendation made by the Pentagon, Trump declined to say how many troops he would send or reveal a firm timeline for how long they would serve there.

“We will not talk about numbers of troops or our plan for further military activities,” he said. “Conditions on the ground, not arbitrary timetables, will guide our strategy for now on. … I will not say when we are going to attack, but attack we will.”

What he was saying is just kill the bastards. I agree, but kill 101 for every one of ours they have killed, starting with the 2,000 killed 9/11/2001.

It was a very straight forward speech. I was glad to hear that the Generals and the men and women on the ground will call the shots.

No one but Afghans has won a war in Afghanistan since before the invasion of Alexander the Great (and we have no records before then). What makes us think we can?

We cannot pursue the enemy into the mountains and caves without horrendous loss of life. The Afghani rebels cannot eat stones. Pursue a Sherman Strategy and destroy all means of agriculture and food production. Use an Agent Orange type of chemical on the Poppy fields.
Their only purpose is to generate income for rebels and death for our addicts. These will be soft easy targets which cannot hide or shoot back.

Set up centers for daily food distribution, which we will import into the country. Vet each and every recipient and conduct door to door searches for weapons. Possession of weapons shuts off your access to the food supply. Inform the Iranians and the Chinese that attempts to smuggle food into Afghanistan will be considered an act of war and use drones to attack any movement of large transport vehicles emanating from those borders. Inform the Pakistanis that unless they become proactive in shutting off sanctuary and resupply for the Afghani rebels they will be put on an enemy list and any treaties, financial and military support between our nations will be abrogated.

Use drones to interdict food smuggling through the passes in the Hindukush mountains. Let the combatants starve until they surrender, then execute all cadre, religious and political leaders. Put the rank and file in internment camps on subsistence rations.

See to it that the prisoners undergo a constant barrage of propaganda, indoctrination and counter culture immersion. Fingerprint and DNA sample each prisoner so that in the future, when he attacks elsewhere he can be identified and executed if taken prisoner again.

I am SICK TO DEATH of this message. I am not a fool and understand FAR FAR better than you concerning the Twin Towers. The collapse was cause by EXACTLY what you see in the films and you can watch from beginning to end. Here is the evidence in this report. http://www.civil.northwestern.edu/people/bazant/PDFs/Papers/00%20WTC%20Collapse%20-%20What%20Did%20&%20Did%20Not%20Cause%20It.pdf Bldg 7 is irrelevant to the twin towers.
