Two Boys From Texas
If this were a cartoon you would see the dust rise,
They have to meet and beat the competition.
They squabble and fuss over who is best,
Then they put their arm around each other's shoulder,
And walk of buddies forever.
When they walk by,
The girls smile and give them the eye.
Sometimes they keep going
Sometimes they stop.
When they find the right one,
They are smitten on the spot.
They are respectful of ladies,
Gentle with animals.
Full of love and appreciation
For this Nation and Old Glory.
Ready to help,
Ready to serve.
Their country goes to war,
They volunteer to join the cause.
Strong defenders of the
Red, White and Blue.
Always loyal and true,
A better buddy you'll never know.
They have hearts of gold,
Hearts the size of Texas.
Texas gold (oil)
Must run in their veins,
They are always on the go,
Ready to help and be of service.
Who are they?
Their initials are a dead give-away.
BB - Bad Boys
Well - some may say so,
But mostly it's boys will be boys.
LS - Little Saints!
Now get up off the floor,
Stop Laughing!
Their halos may tilt, and be a tad tarnished,
But their mom's will always see them as the apple of her eye.

Thanks, Aunt Bee.
I will allow BB into our club, but grudgingly.
He may be a Squid, but he's also a Texan...his saving Grace.

Once a Texan, always a Texan, and they stick together because loyalty to the Lone Star State makes them family.
You can choose your friends, but you're stuck with family.

Yes, very similar to "Once a Marine, Always a Marine." "The Change Is Forever."
I suspect my being a Marine is why BB hangs with me. He seeks the double blessing of being a Texas Marine.

You are an absolute sweetheart - always so humble.

to start with
it's not your club
you are only a minor part of the Navy
you seem to overlook that fact
but you can hang with me if you so desire
I take in stray dogs too
Oh great! A Texas civil war, but now if 4 GI's from the Northeast stepped in
I bet I'd see two mad hornet nests rile up.

A little late in writing this, but...once BB gets over the heady thrill of being called a "boy" from Texas, he will start right in on my 'humility,' and my being "an absolute sweetheart."

You neglected to say those two 'boys' were U.S. Marines. Attaining that status was the penultimate achievement in their life.

Well, sort'a, Salty.
I granted BB honorary status as a U.S. Marine. He has been a 'wannabee' since...well, forever

only proves that you dastardly Marines
had no real ambition
after you failed the Navy's entrance exam
and had to settle for less
