For rednecks only .
I wouldn't bet against ya . I've almost replaced the thing myself the last couple of seasons just for preventative maintenance.
Did I ? Heck no. If you know basic electricity it's no big deal discharging the old capacitor and replacing it. Maybe a 15 minute
job . The old one lasted 35 years . I'll be lucky if this replacement last 5 . I am 70 and don't buy green bananas . Guess what
I am not going to buy as well ? Yup , $18 capacitors with free delivery . I will be pissed if I make it to 75 and this Chinese made
peace of junk smokes on me .

Lol! I'm the same way. I told my wife for a year that I should replace the pressure tank for our well. We even looked at them at Lowes once just to get an idea of the cost.
Well.......time goes by, and we wake up one Christmas morning to no water pressure, and a growing glacier flowing across the yard.
Don't think for a second that my mild mannered, loving, forgiving wife didn't rip my rectum out, and jam it down my throat over that one!
An once of prevention is worth a couple of thousand gallons of cure .
I hear there is a learning curve in life . I was not on that Bell Curve myself .
Blew right thru it early in mine . Or so I thought . Catastrophe lurked at every
bend and still shows up.
Oh well . Pun intended

Hello Archie
American built . Man do I miss those days .
My home was built in 1984
Yesterday it was 118 degrees on my patio when my A/C
compressor stopped engaging . I try to DIY on everything
but Saturday late morning I could not wait until Tues for
a replacement $18 Capacitor to come from Amazon .
Long Story Short .
My A/C was built in 1983 or 4 by Americans . The repairman
and I had a very good conversation on what we had then
and the pencil thin junk of inferior materials and workmanship
from the third world we are stuck with today .
Which we are on the road to join !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just have to be from Arizona unless you are a recluse from Death Valley.A few days ago we hit 121 in Glendale AZ (no not the Glendale in 'Californica')
Extreme south eastern Phoenix Metro . About 3 mi. from the Superstitions west face .

Did they ever find the Dutchman's mine?
Nothing in them there thar hills but bleached bones . This state is pot marked with shafts so many bones
go undetected. I took a course in prospecting some years ago at a local community college and man
did I get a lesson . Talk about tough . Those ole boys back in the day must have been something else .
My hats off to them . Unless its mid day this time of year . In that case they will just have to wait for it.
Like for about 4 months .

Do not forget the snakes, but then the Metro Phoenix car lots have plenty of them.
And you hope the flame doesn't follow to the source. Mike
