Today in 1775, the Battle of Breed's Hill ( better known as theBattle of Bunker Hill began. British troops drove Americans out of a fortified position on Breed's Hill. The British suffered heavy casualties, and the American forces, outnumbered and out of ammo, were forced to retreat.
Today in 1885, The Statue of Liberty arrived in New York Harbor, a gift from France.
Today in history should be a theme taught in all schools. It is a mystery to us "old folks" that a high school student does not even know the events that have taken place in the last 50 years, let alone 200. Each day is and has ben a day that governs our future days. Good job Loki.

Thank you. If they taught any day in history it would be an improvement. Who knows? If history caught on, they might even start teaching things like math and English again, also.
