I went to Dream Theater's 20th Anniversary concert in 2005. They've had a couple of changes in personnel and they've mellowed a little...as we all do, but damn are they good!

The drummer is a guy who replaced Mike Portnoy, the original drummer. Mike got tired of touring and wanted to take time off, but the band wanted to keep doing their thing and replaced him with Mike Mangiani. You wouldn't believe the people who auditioned for his position. Lars Ulrich, for one. Portnoy is the baddest-ass drummer I've ever heard.
This is a little side project Portnoy had going on. Liquid Tension Experiment. He, of course, is on drums, The guitarist is John Petrucci, also of Dream Theater. The keyboardist is Jordan Rudess, also of Dream Theater and sometimes the Dixie Dregs. The bass player, or in this case the guy playing the Chapman Stick, is Tony Levin of King Crimson.

That Mike guys one hell of a drummer.
He really pulled them thru.
Take Fleetwood Mac.- Drummer
Phil Collins - drummer
Don Henley with the Eagles - drummer
It's hard to classify this.
Sounds like Jazz.- Maybe classical jazz.
Hard to categorize this as it's 'totally different' than what I'm used to { bis azz Jazz fan}...
Thanks Mike.- good shit dude...
