That reminds me. When I was a kid, my parents took us to a place called LaGrand. I had a 16oz veal steak, with a salad and baked potato. Man, that was one tender, tasty steak.

It must have been to remember it all this time.. I like Veal but usually Veal Marsala from this excellent restaurant in Chicago.. cooked absolutely perfect!!

When I first came to Co I kept seeing advertisements for Bison steak ..Took me a while to have one and when I did I thought never ever had a better steak!! Now I get them from my butcher or Sprouts when they have them!!!

Greg Allman died today.. Just heard it~~ Wowwww.. Another huge loss..

In his honor~~

I, too, prefer the ribeye any day. It is hard to even screw them up when cooking. I like it with just a tiny bit of pink left inside. I also like the fat of the meat, thought not a lot of it. Gotta be the prime cut though. Expensive? Yes. But worth it. I also like salt on it with no kind of sauce.
I like my bacon very crispy - like a cracker, so that filet mignon with bacon just doesn't do it for me.

I prefer my ribeye med rare but not still mooing (SWMBO, my wife wants it one step away from walking away on its own) bacon crisp but not dried out, thick cut only, prefer ordering it from Nuskies in Wisconsin, applewood smoked.

Have you ever had Filet Mignon? If you haven't, you really need to try some before you shuffle off this mortal coil. I know it's expensive, but it's worth every penny. I could try to describe how good it is, but words don't do it justice. Just go out and buy some. Do it tonight, for tomorrow we die.

Go with the bacon. Not the really fatty stuff, fairly lean. Do not cook more than medium rare, if you do you may as well get a cheap assed sirloin. I used to manage a restaurant, and when people ordered a well done Filet or Prime Rib I wanted to go out to the dining room and smack them.

• Cook, chef, or anybody, to each, his own. I see all the cooks on TV like their steaks medium rare, too, but if that's the they way they like it, fine. That's too rubbery to me. I prefer mine cooked a bit longer.
• Now slices of bacon, that's even worse. To me, they gotta be crispy, like a cracker. The trick is to not let it taste burnt. Try putting chewing gum in a sandwich.
. . . . .

Although I eat very little meat, I do agree with you. But please don't do as our president and drown them in catsup.

When you are little you do as your father does I know my dad always put catsup on roast beef and it wasn't until I was full grown that I learned that roast beef was good all by itself. Sometimes you have to try different things to learn to like different things.

I've said before, "I like only only salt, no 'steak' sauce of any kind." Let alone, the likes of catsup. If served with potatoes or rice with gravy, a little gravy touching it is acceptable.

The best way to eat Roast Beef is with some horseradish sauce.

Horseradish! That burns my whole insides, at least my mouth. But my wife like that stuff. The last time I had it was probably my first time maybe 60 years ago. Never again, for me. But whoever likes it, have at it. Spicy stuff not for me. That's main reason I shy away from Mexican food/restaurants.

Whatever that means. Experience is what have. There are very a few things I don't care for (spicy just happens to be one), as I'm sure there are foods you wouldn't touch. Food is like cars, some people like chevys and wouldn't touch a Ford, and visa versa. I've had both, and now, as many others, wouldn't have either. That is just part of what makes the world go 'round.
