Have you ever had Filet Mignon? If you haven't, you really need to try some before you shuffle off this mortal coil. I know it's expensive, but it's worth every penny. I could try to describe how good it is, but words don't do it justice. Just go out and buy some. Do it tonight, for tomorrow we die.

Or, with Bacon. Can't go wrong with Bacon.

This is good too. Crusted with herbs.

Your making me hungry now. When my late wife was alive and we were poor I would sometimes by a porterhouse and we would split it. I would take the regular steak that resembled a NY Strip and give her the tenderloin. It accomplished two things. 1. She started to like steak. 2. She would request that we have steak more often. After we became richer then we would purchase the fillets and we would both enjoy them. A friend of mine invited me over to watch the Packer game and I brought over a package of fillets from Sams. Our anniversary was Dec. 31st and then we would go out and by live lobsters and have lobster and Au-gratin potatoes for dinner along with a salad those days were fun. I sure miss them.

I know there is a God because He made food so delicious. Evolution wouldn't care how food tasted.

That reminds me. When I was a kid, my parents took us to a place called LaGrand. I had a 16oz veal steak, with a salad and baked potato. Man, that was one tender, tasty steak.

That first pic looks exactly like what I fixed on the grill last night. Also the doneness (MR to Rare) My favorite. The second looks just like I used to fix them (w/bacon) They are both good. A little garlic powder on top with salt & pepper. Don't forget the baked potato. Mashed is good too. My daughter is a former chef but I used to fix the filet mignon (bacon wrapped) before she ever thought of cooking.
Tonight is going to be hamburgers. I turn 79 next week and can't eat as much as I used to be able to. Thanks for sending. Always like to see those kinds of pics.

You guys are simply not good for my diet. I occasionally bring home a half-dozen oysters in the shell and have them before the steak. I have them all to myself as my wife can't stand to look at them. I remember one time while in New Orleans, I ordered a dozen oysters on the half-shell and they brought them to me on a cookie sheet that took up the whole place mat. That dozen blue-points cost $2.95 so you can tell it was a few years ago. Lots of good eating in the French Quarter, among other things.

If you want a real treat, go to the store, buy some top sirloin and have them turn it into hamburger. Add some chopped scallions, make up some patties, stuff them with blue cheese, then slap them on the grill. Enjoy.

I actually prefer ribeye, but filet is just fine too. Just don't bother with Omaha Steaks they are way over rated. Go to a Ruth Cris stead house and enjoy, particularly if someone else is paying the bill!!!

There is obviously something wrong with your tastebuds.

I prefer the texture of ribeye, which is really important to me.

I don't like a lot of fat on my meat, which is why I prefer Filet Mignon. Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever tried ribeye.
